Laptops generally have brightness controls that are capable of being set to different levels depending upon how it is being powered (either the AC adapter or the battery).

Odds are you somehow accidentally changed the brightness down to it's lowest setting when the AC adapter is plugged in. I'm not sure how to adjust the settings on your model, but most newer systems have a way of doing through a key combination on the keyboard. Generally by holding down a key labeled "Fn" or similar, and another set of keys on the keyboard (one for darker and one for brighter).

There USUALLY are labels on the keys to indicate this. If there are no labels on your keyboard, try checking in the manual that came with your laptop.

Black screen Laptop. Flickers once on start. External Monitor works

Look for your computer's monitor settings, then adjust its refresh rate.
To modify a refresh rate on Windows, right-click anywhere on the Windows desktop.
Select "Properties," then choose the "Display Properties" tab on the window that appears.

Click the "Settings" option, then select "Advanced" from the window that appears.
Choose the "Monitor" tab, which lets you access a drop-down menu with the options for refresh settings adjustments. As a basic guide, use a setting of at least 75 hertz.

Confirm the change by clicking "Apply." Reboot the PC to ensure the new settings on the screen take effect.
Check your screen if the blinking problem is resolved. If not, try a higher refresh setting. If there is no change on the flickering of the screen, this means the problem is not caused by the screen's refresh rate. If your computer is not running on a battery or surge protector, shut it down to safely transfer the plug to another outlet Hope this helps.

Dell Inspiron 5720

F-8 is the key, Try to "cold start" the computer, meaning remove the power plug from wall outlet or uplug from computer, remove battery, now replace battery and plug computer into wall outlet. Push the on button while "TAPPING" the F-8 key repeatedly Tap, tap, tap, until you hear a beep or it load the black menu with safe mode options. IF THAT DOES NOT WORK: shut down the laptop, remove AC supply, remove battery. Plug the AC power back in,DO NOT INSTALL BATTERY, Start the machine, without battery installed, and tap F-8 repeatedly. If it still fails, PULL THE PLUG OUT OF THE WALL OUTLET WHILE THE COMPUTER IS STILL RUNNING. NOW PLUG THE LAPTOP BACK INTO THE WALL AND START, THAT SHOULD TAKE YOU TO A BLACK PAGE WITH WHITE SCRIPT WITH OPTIONS YOU ARE LOOKING FOR.

How can i hook a second battery up?

If there isn't a battery slot then this is not possible.
You can carry a spare battery that is fully charged and the swap out the battery when the other one runs flat.
If you use your laptop in a car that has a 12volt cigarette outlet then you can purchase a laptop power adapter that plugs into this cigarette outlet to provide power to your laptop.

Hi there there was the same problem with my Fujitsu laptop as well you can try this step

1) Try to change different wall outlet
2) Shut down your computer and disconnect the battery and also the Ac adapter which is connected to your laptop, and then once your computer is Off just press and hold power button for at least 15-20 sec and yes do not lift your finger from the power button
3) Reconnect everything Battery as well as your Ac adapter, and try to see if the issue is resolved or not
4) Just download latest BIOS update from your computer manufacture website , Flash BIOS and check if the issue is resolved or not
5) If everything fails just try and check if the Ac adapter pin is burnt or not, you will see a black spot or something like a burnt spot on the Ac adapter pin of your laptop, if you see this just take any sharp device like Knife etc just scratch clean the black spot and once the black spot is properly cleaned then just connect the pin to the wall outlet and t see the Magic

Hey guys if you really think this works just post you comments or likes so that i will feel happy , really this things works on my 1 year old Fujitsu laptop and i have also worked for
companies like HP and Dell.

Laptop boots up fine but will get a black screen after about 5 minutes of use and won't reboot normal after that for awhile

I fixed a similar problem by doing the following. With your computer on and plugged in, remove the battery. Then press the power button to do a cold boot. Once it's off unplug it and wait about a miniute then plug it back in and restart it w/o the battery in it. Once it is re-booted reinstall the battery. Hope this helps.

I have a new e627 used only once before today. Battery connection was partially out and screen indicated low battery. After five minutes screen went black and now I cannot power up.

Maybe your battery is totally drained.

Try to connect the AC adaptor of your laptop and plug it to the wall outlet and let it charge for 3 hours or more. When you plug it on the wall socket, it won't show the laptop's led blinking since it was totally drained. But after 3 minutes or more, it will start to show the blinking led to indicate charging. When blinking stops led light disappears, it is fully charged and ready to use.

Remember: Do not use your laptop while it is plugged in to save your battery life. When at home, remove the battery while it is fully charged and plug the AC adaptor directly to the wall outlet. It will still work without the battery as long as it is plugged directly to the wall socket.

Screen went black

That is a low battery warning icon. Check first the DC adapter/charger output. It might be not working so the battery is drained. Then the player will not turn on. The player will still turn on even the battery is dead when plugged into an outlet.
