Question about Acer Extensa 4620 Notebook
Laptops generally have brightness controls that are capable of being set to different levels depending upon how it is being powered (either the AC adapter or the battery).
Odds are you somehow accidentally changed the brightness down to it's lowest setting when the AC adapter is plugged in. I'm not sure how to adjust the settings on your model, but most newer systems have a way of doing through a key combination on the keyboard. Generally by holding down a key labeled "Fn" or similar, and another set of keys on the keyboard (one for darker and one for brighter).
There USUALLY are labels on the keys to indicate this. If there are no labels on your keyboard, try checking in the manual that came with your laptop.

Try taking the battery out and then plug it in, may have some kind of battery problem.
Hope that helps.
