Question about GE 25932 Cordless Phone

1 Answer

Sounds terrible. My phones have a huge amount of static.  My regular phone that is a GE does not sound this bad. When I change the channel it does not solve the problem at all.  Is it the phones or my phones? Is there anything that I can do to remedy the problem?

Re: Sounds terrible.

Be sure when you are on that phone, that you are within range, and away from any electrical interference, particularly microwaves.

There is terrible static on all lines and the phone company states that it is our phone system. We have the Northstar Meridian M7324.

It sounds like a reboot of your system may be in order, When ever you have a system wide problem of this scope the main box on your wall is having trouble. power it down and power back up, this should fix it.

Uniden ANA9710 Phone has problem charging when set in base, have to take battery out and charge that way. sounds like it's breaking up when speaking...lots of static type of noise. 2nd...

press and hold CID button for 5 seconds to access the phone's menu.

Then change ringer type and volume.

For the phone breaking up, try different channels of that phone to receive better frequency. The phone with the weird battery may have faulty or bad battery or charger contacts that need to be cleaned with rubbing alcohol and need to be resoldered.

Heavy Static on phones. Can't hear caller. No caller ID

Room monitoring mode is basically a type of Intercom.

Press the *TONE/exit button on the handset to exit room monitor mode.

I will provide you with link to the user manual of the phone. Have a check at it. Might be useful.

Terrible static on land phone

if the one phone is the problem, then is has to do with the wiring connection for that station. Check the wiring at the phone by wiggling the wires while on a call. If you don't want to annoy anyone, Call an 800 number that has a large menu they play.If you have a modular jack at this phone, you would want to try another jack. Try the wiggle test first. It's also possible that the other end of the cable has a bad connection, or the cable itself has been damaged and has a broken wire anywhere on the length of the cable. If you know where the wire feeds from, that would be a big step in checking the other end. If you have no clue, a technician would have to visit your home to inspect the wiring and see if he/she can find it. Another option is to feed a new cable run to that phone. Squirrels can definitely affect wiring to homes, but that affects all the phones, not just one.
Hope that helps!
Good luck and God bless!

Do you have broadband, it sounds like you need to install a broadband filter.

Static in my panasonic telephones

A possible cause for the static in your cordless phones could be dimmer switches around the area of your phone that causes static. Turn the switches completely off (not just turned down) and see if the static leaves. You can replace the dimmers with regular switches if that clears your static. If it does not, another trace for interference: you will have to take a portable radio and turn it to AM 550 mHz and tune it to the loudest crackling noise. Carry the radio around looking for the loudest static interference. Could be a loose connection in a receptacle or panel box. Any small malfunction can cause static on wireless devices.

When I have a static problem with a phone or radio it usually happens when I have them plugged into a extension cord. Or they are too close to one another. You may try an ext.cord. just having the phone plugged in or find out why you have so many magnetic fields in your house and if moving the phone around to different outlets help.If not I suggest you call Radio Shack. You can not beat their customer service.

Background static

1. How old are you phone lines in the house?  Check the "main" terminal connections.  Clean and reconnect.  (Make note how the wires are connected).

2. The power transformers for the phones maybe you trouble also. Unplug all except the main unit.   Check each transfer one at a time. Do you have static?  One or more may be your problem.  Replace the bad ones if needed.
