A reboot is always a last resort!!! a better option to remove a program is to access control manager by pressing ctrl, atl, delete at the same time. when the prompt window is opened look through both processes and services tabs for anything related to the program hit stop process then just go to start>control panel>add/remove program. if that doesnt work restart your computer in safe-mode. if its a vista hit the power button let it rest for a sec then restart it. since the computer was improperly shut down it will ask if you want to start windows normally. don't instead choose start in safe-mode when it starts everything related to radial point will be shut down making it easy to remove the program through control panel. if you still whish to reboot shut down your computer by opening the start menu and in the lower right corner select restart. when the comp. restarts and the logo appears hit f8 quickly (you only have about 5 seconds before it restarts normally) choose boot with disk insert your start up disk and the computer will restart and all non-default programs will be lost. radial point will finally be defeated but at what cause? at what cause!!!??

My compaq presario f700 laptop says bootmanager missing when i tried the reboot cds its says cannot reboot from disc

Ifyour Windows 7 or Vista computer has encountered the dreaded "BOOTMGRis missing" error, you aren't alone. If the problem isn't hardwarerelated you can fix it with relative ease as long as you have a WindowsDVD handy.
If you don't have one, you can create a Windows Vista repair disk
http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/how-to-make-a-windows-vista-repair-disk-if-you-dont-have-one/

Boot off the Windows Vista DVD and then click Next at the first prompt You can also follow the step from this side:http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/fixing-bootmgr-is-missing-error-while-trying-to-boot-windows-vista/

The installation process will attempt to find your Vistainstallation directory. If there's more than one in the list, selectthe correct one and then use the Next button again.

Click the first link for "Startup Repair"

The installation process will repair the system, and then prompt for you to reboot.
Alternatively you could have chosen the Command Prompt option instead, and use the following command to fix the boot options only: bootrec /fixboot

At this point you should be able to reboot your computer, remove the DVD and everything should be working.

Tried to install xp instead of vista, now bootmgr is missing.

First you will need the SATA driver already saved on a memory stick. Now go into the BIOS and change the boot order: put the cd first then the hard disk second, save the new setting and reboot. Put the XP install and reboot again, the install will start. When instructed to input extra drivers plug in the memory stick and point to it. After that don't forget to install all the other drivers from here.

Hi,

Do not install again allow your computer define the update for the Vista Service Pack 2 online. This would be better option for you.

In order to do a system restore, you must get into the bios (tap F2 after turning computer on) and change the boot order so that the optical drive (or cdrom) is the first boot device.

Can you please assist me how to install XP or any OS in hp laptop which has os windows vista?

1) You must have a Bootable O/S CD/DVD
2) You will have to do a clean installation of O/S

If installing Win XP be sure that there are Drivers for the Laptop available for Win XP. If not some of your hardware will not function properly.

Cannot get out of Configurating updates: stage 3 of 3 screen

This is all I could find:

It's not only Windows Vista Service Pack 1 that isn't ready for general consumer availability. Some of the updates released on February 12, 2008, as a part of the Microsoft monthly patch cycle, have managed to effectively kill Windows Vista. Users are reporting that, following the introduction of the February 12 updates, Vista gets stuck at the finalization of the deployment of the updates displaying the message "Configuring Updates Stage 3 of 3 0% completes" and then entering
an infinite reboot loop. And there is absolutely no way out for the end users, because canceling the configuration process of the updates is a move equivalent to losing access to the operating system entirely. This will even happen in Safe Mode.

Microsoft has yet to officially respond to the issue, or to provide a resolve or at least a workaround. However, it does seem at this point that there is an issue with the deployment of the pre-requisite updates necessary for the smooth installation of Windows Vista SP1. Namely, the problem resides in the Vista installation software. The fact of the matter is that end users will have to first update the Vista installation software and only then deploy the remaining February 12 updates and only at the end Vista SP1 RTM.

If you are stuck watching the "Configuring Updates Stage 3 of 3 0% complete Do not turn off Computer" and in the endless reboot loop, then stop the cycle and boot from the Vista media. You will need to "Repair your computer," so select your Vista installation and restore it to a point before the deployment of the updates. After gaining back access to your operating system, you will have to install the service stack update, namely Update for Windows Vista (KB937287). Deploy this update before any other on your Vista, and only then install the rest. At this point in time, you should experience no more problems.

"Update 937287 is a prerequisite package that contains updates to the Windows Vista installation software. The installation software is the component that handles the installation and the removal of software updates, language packs, optional Windows features, and service packs. Update 937287 is necessary to successfully install and to remove Windows Vista SP1 on all versions of Windows Vista," Microsoft revealed.
