Unallocated usb part - Win 7

I have an 64GB usb disk. however, it shows only 32GB. In disk menagement I can see that one part is OK, the other is unallocated space.
i cannot "reallocate" it... reformating doesn't help.
Deleting "allocated" part and trying to extend it to a unallocated doesn't help, because those options are "greyed out"....

don't know what to do... i even tried with EASEUS Partition Master but it shows only "internal" disk, not USB.
i'm using Win 7 Prof, 32bit version

help please

This is assuming that you are installing windows on second HDD / SSD on laptop.

1. Delete all the partitions of second HDD / SSD where you want to install windows as clean install.
2. Use AOMEI Partition assistant. I used that. You can try other software.
3. Let the disk space remain unallocated. Don't fomat.
4. Boot from windows installation media ( CD/ DVD/ USB).
5. Select this unallocated space for installation.
6. Enjoy........
Remeber that if your main OS is running on GPT (UEFI) partition scheme than you should make a EFI bootbale installation media.

I think you should try this out(In your windows operating system lyk.WIN 7) follow the steps:- 1. plug in your flash drive 2. ON DESKTOP OF YOUR COMPUTER OR LAPTOP 3. right click on my computer > then click on manage option 4. THEN A NEW WINDOW(computer management) WILL BE OPENED 5. then choose DISK MANAGEMENT in storage 6. then you'll see your hard disk partition and a separate partition of your 8GB flash drive 7. that (8gb partition will be unallocated) 8. right click on that partition(unallocated one) 9. then create a simple new volume..... by following these steps you'll be able to fix your problem HAVE A NICE DAY

How do i format to fat32 using windows 7

Windows 7 will format an external partition to FAT32, as long as it's 32GB or less. "Control Panel -> System and Security -> Administrative Options". Right click on "Computer Management", select "Run as an Administrator", double-click on "Storage" then "Disk Management", the right click on your external drive. Select "Shrink Volume", shrink it by 32GB or less, then right click on unallocated space, select format, and "FAT32" will show up as an option during the format wizard.

This is a way to create a small bit of space on an external hard drive for copying some files from Mac OS's to Windows.

Wont show up on my computer

Firstly, make sure that all the cables are plugged in properly for power and USB data transfer. If it still doesn't show up after a few minutes, then Right-Click on My Computer (Vista & Win7 users will see it labeled Computer), then choose Manage, then choose Storage, Then Disk Managment. It will take a few seconds for your computer to fully load in the screen. At the top it should list your hard drive or hard drive partitions if you have more than one partition. Under that you will see Disk 0, Disk 1, and so on. Do you see any of these with a long black bar to the right of it with it labeled Unallocated Space inside the box area under the black bar? If not, then there is something severely wrong with your My Book or the power or USB cables to it, or your computer's USB port is burned out, try all of your USB ports just to be sure. If you do see a long black bar that says Unallocated Space underneath it, then this is likely your My Book. Unallocated Space means that the hard drive hasn't been formatted yet, or that it's partition has somehow been deleted. If you've used this external hard drive in the past to back things up on, then your data is lost because data can't be stored or retained on a hard drive that isn't formatted or partitioned. Be sure that the area of Unallocated Space is actually your My Book. It should show how much Unallocated Space there is, and your's should be reading between 300GB - 320GB. To get your computer to recognize your hard drive you will have to partition and format it. Right-click in the white area under the black bar and choose Create Simple Volume. Follow the steps thru and format the hard drive. After its formatted it should be recognized by your computer again.

Not show 80gb show 32gb

Click Start
Right-mouse click My Computer
Click Manage
Expand the Storage branch of the tree
Click Disk Management
You should see a rectangle with '32GB' in one "inner" rectangle, and '48GB' as "unallocated" storage.

Compare it to writing in only the first 32 pages of an 80 page diary.

Select the "unallocated' space.
Click to "Create Partition", so that you can use that "unallocated" space.

I just installed a Maxtor 6L06033 (60GB) drive in my Essential 500. Why does it only format to 32GB?

1.the max configuration for this PC may only be for 40 GB
2. you may have to format the drive in to a 2nd virtual drive 32/22
3. check the manufacturers spec to see the maximum drive it can take.
