Sounds like the power supply board has failed. common problem.

Resolder the video board that have the long neck CRT(tv tube)have holes connected to the board.

When the TV is on, how about the back light(you can check that on your TV's back side)

If the back light on -- need to replace Main Board.
no back light -- need to replace Power Board

SOUND JUST STOPS AT ODD TIMES


first, change the speaker. second try to adjust the sound IF trnsformer, third resolder the amplifier IC.

the horizontal line across the center like that tells me that you have lost your vertical IC chip and possible some capacitors and resistors around it. You will have to take it into a service repair shop in order to get it looked at but it will probably be cheaper to just buy a new one.
