Question about Bosch Dishwashers

1 Answer

The timer on my dishwasher is really off. No

The timer on my dishwasher is really off. No matter what wash I select (REG/Quick) it takes over 2 hrs to clean. I jumps from 1 min. left to 11 or from 136 min. to 28 then back up again. What can I do to fix it?

The best thing to do is replace it ... but make sure all the connectors are in place

Sounds like the timing mechanism is messed up, call the repair place and see if they can fix it. other wise take the front panel off and see if you can adjust the dial that controls the timer.

So far top drawer takes too long .Been washing over 2hrs

Please check the flow of the water to the inlet pipe connection, check the filter at the inlet and also the inlet valve. If there is a slow water flow it will take much longer for the cycle to finish. Also try with other programs specially short/quick programs .
It will also be good to check the pump pressure and the sparying arms.

Got a used kenmore elite and I am looking for an instruction manual. I need more info on the washing cycles. Does it normally take 1 1/2 hrs to wash on the quick cycle mode? Model # 665.17483300 Type...

Here's a link to your model, showing exploded diagrams and parts lists, for future reference.

http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/part-model/Kenmore-Parts/Dishwasher-Parts/Model-66517483300/0582/0130000?pathTaken=&prst=0&shdMod=66517483300

And your manual.

I found similar Kenmore dishwashers on Consumer Reports with around 135 to 145 minutes for a normal wash cycle and around 5 to 6 gallons per wash. A quick wash would take somewhat less, depending on the model. But not much less. I think you are OK. Because dishwashers are using less water these days, they count on longer wash times to produce the same effect.

How to program a intermatic outdoor timer/photo control hb51rc

http://www.intermatic.com/products/timers/consumer%20outdoor%20timers/electromechanical%20timers/hb51rc.aspx

1. Turn dial selector to the "off" position and
plug timer into three conductor outdoor outlet.
2. Turn dial selector to timing interval
desired (i.e., 2 Hrs, 4 Hrs, 6 Hrs, 8 Hrs,
dusk to dawn, etc.).
3. Plug outdoor lights into Easy-Set™ Timer -
lights will turn on automatically at dusk.
4. Lights turn off 2 4 6 or 8 hours later
depending on dial selection

Takes 2 hrs to run a 45 min cycle

defo a heating element fault or an ntc fault. More likely to be the element though.

Runs forever! even on Normal wash...help !!

Check to make sure you heating element has not failed. Dishwashers of today heat the water periodically through out the cycle and if the element has failed. The heating delay light is the indicator that tells you that it is trying to heat the water.

The most obvious failure would be the mechanical timer that is behind / part of the knob used to select the cycle.

But, you may want to inspect the heating element in the sump area -- some dishwashers will wait (and wait) for the water temp to come up high.

Good Luck!

sorry, but you are not exactly clear. Timer is pre programed to the program selected. the lighter the wash the less time it will take.
