I a drink spill in your computer, can it be fix?

If you have immidietaly turned off computer, a tried to dry spills, there is chance that your computer will turn on after complete drying. But after some time, the motherboard and other electronic boards, which had contact with liquid, will oxidize, and will not be usable. So you should take it to the after-sale service.

I had a drink spill on my keyboard last night. I instantly worked on cleaning it up and did a very good job except for the 1 key in the upper left. It is the only key that is having a problem. Is there a...

You will have to remove the keypad to get access to the pad below. It is possible that there is some liquid logging below, so use a hair dryer to softly warm out the liquid.
Repeat this for sometime, use a good air jet along , if not the keypad can be opened and the pads wiped out dry.

My daughter spilled her drink in the keyboard and now the computer won't boot up? Is the hard drive ruined? After I try to dry it out will it re-boot?

A spilled drink on a laptop keyboard is usually pretty serious. Especially if it was a drink that had sugar in it (such as soda). If the laptop was running when this happened, you are probably out of luck. Most likely the hard drive will be ok because they are enclosed in a metal casing that should have protected it from most of the liquid, but that's not a guarantee. The motherboard or something on it such as the RAM is most likely the problem. Letting it dry out might help if it was only water spilled on it and it was not turned on at the time. The good news is, if there was any important info on the hard drive, you should still be able to retrieve it by taking the hard drive out and hooking it up to another PC. The bad news is, you will most likely need a new laptop. Several companies make USB connectors for laptop hard drives so you can connect it to another computer. Depending on what type of laptop you have, the hard drive is usually located under a panel on the bottom which can be removed by a couple of screws. If you need more help, just let me know what type of laptop you have, what exactly it does when you try to turn it on, and if you want to try and save the data on your hard drive.

Laptop keyboard not operational

If you replaced the keyboard with a Dell replacement 1501 keyboard and it still doesn’t work then yes the motherboard will probably have to be replaced. If your son spilled water on the laptop it could clear up after it completely dries. If it was juice, soft drink or sport drink the laptop could develop other issues. The syrup in these kinds of drinks don’t evaporate, they just remain there and accumulate foreign particles like dust, hair, dirt and eventually start to corrode electrical contacts like acid. Similar to the terminal posts on a car battery.

Spilled wine now cant get camera off movie mode

Turn camera off! Take out battery!
Now, with NO Electrical contact or power in it, try to clean wine residue away from any moving parts with clean water and try drying unit slowly in front of a heater or hair dryer. If available, put a small amount of WD-40 in the same areas, making sure to wipe away any drainage or excess. Allow to dry overnight in warm area, pehaps by heater, but don't let it get too hot. Reinstall battery and turn it on.
It should work find now. Good Luck!

Fan Problem

sometimes a remote draws moisture either from the air or someone spilling a drink on it. i'm not saying this is the problem but it's worth a shot. take apart your remote. don't worry, remotes are usually the shell, rubber buttons, and the little green board. not much to lose and easy to put back together. take a dry cloth and wipe off the green plate front and back. try not to touch it but on the sides. replace it back together and try it out.
