Question about Linksys Wireless-G Broadband Router
How do I make it non public after beint setup as public
Basically you just need to turn on some form of encryption, and set a decently strong password or phrase.
There are three types or enryption, WEP, WPA, and WPA2, of which, the last two have two different flavors, Personal and Enterprise. I would not use WEP, unless you absolutely have no choice (i.e. computer or device you are trying to use wirelessly only supports WEP), as WEP is crackable in under 1 minute. Choose either WPA, or preferably, WPA2, Personal. Set your password, and then do the same on any device you want to have a wireless connection with your router.
Anybody who does not have your password will be unable to connect to the router. This also prevents people from capturing the data you send back and forth between your device and router, which can be done on an un-encrypted connection.
