Question about MCE QuickStream DV Video Capture

1 Answer

Hi, due to some errors, I've currently updated (refreshed) the firmware on my Quickstream DV, and now when I push the start button, all three lights will stay steady on and the drive won't work. The only way of swithcing it off is by unsing the ON/OFF switch. I've used the .BIN file that came with the drive when I bought it, so the problem shouldn't be the wrong firmware. Any ideas? Thanks, Hamilton.

    Hi, thaks for your reply.

I only have two BIN files that came with the uploading software - confgrom.bin and baserom.bin. If I remember correct, I've used the baserom.bin when I tried to refresh the flash, as the unit was not able to detect the harddisk anymore. After flashing and restarting the unit, what I have described before happened. The DV firmware upload software now says "Target node: FFC0 - firmware re. not available". If I click upload/upgrade device firmware, and select any available BIN file there - baserom or confgrom - it says "using standard configuration file... baserom.bin", I click OK, but then it says "failed to switch device to upload mode". I did send emails to the manufacturer, MCE technologies, but it seems that they won't bother answering me. So, probably there's no chance of sending it back for repairs.

    Thanks, Hamilton

It sounds like the flashing failed and now the unit is bricked.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brick_%28electronics%29

The above page explains what bricked means.

If you are unable to perform the firmware update again, then you will have to send the unit to a service center most likely.

Try performing the update a few times if the update can not be performed the unit is bricked and off to repair you go.

sounds like the unit is unable to switch to the upload mode - the firmware is corrupt so it doesn't react to the command the program sends to it.

You need to find a repairer for it.

they do have few phone numbers listed on the site

Error message "push the reset switch"

Pull the battery out to reset it. Get a DV tape cleaner to clean out the tape deck.

That should solve both.

49.00FF service error hp color laserjet 4700n

This error is most often caused by out of date firmware on the printer.
Power off the printer and it restart and it should come to ready. If the error reoccurs, make sure that you have any print jobs in the queue of your computer cleared. If it still does not start without the error, unplug any network or usb cables and restart again. Once the printer is at at ready, use the control panel to go to the information menu and then print the configuration page. The firmware date code will be on the left hand side. Current firmware is 48.180.9.

If the firmware is out of date, see the link posted below to download the firmware update. Chose the easy firmware update as this is the most straight forward way to update the firmware. Once downloaded just double click the file you downloaded and it will run and ask you to chose the printer you want to update. Pick your 4700 from the drop down menu (should be fires option). Then update click update firmware.

You can find the current firmware here

It is getting stuck while refreshing the database.

Depending on the amount of the data or music files you have on your device, "Refreshing Database" may take a while to finish. But if you feel it's frozen you may try the following steps:
Reset the device 1. Press and hold the Power/Menu button for approximately 20 seconds. 2. Release the Power/Menu button. 3. Press the Power/Menu button again to turn on the player. NOTE: Resetting will turn the player off while it is frozen.
Delete recently loaded files 1. Connect the device to the PC in MSC mode using force MSC. 2. Locate and delete recently added files. 3. Disconnect the device from the PC.
If this resolves the issue, proceed to STEP 3. Otherwise, format the device, update to the latest firmware, and reload the songs to the device.

Android Updated

Hi There,

So your G1 has received an Over the air update ?

you will not be able to view a Changelog within the phone showing what updates to the software have been made, but you will be able to see your Firmware Version which wil show what build you have updated to, from there you will be able to find changelogs on the internet !

To view your Firmware version goto your Main home Screen, Press the MENU button, press the SETTINGS tab, Scroll to the bottom and press the ABOUT PHONE button, from here you will be able to view all of the androids firmware information, with the Update being part of the Build number.

RC19 is the standard out of the box version for pre-ordered G1s,There are currently 2 updates for the android Software, RC28 was issued on the phones release date to fix issues with the IM program among other things, but that update was stopped due to there being security errors within the internet browser which could allow for keyloggers, Google has since the 27th october released RC29 which fixes all of the previous RC28 issues and also sorts out the security errors.

Too see which build your phone is goto the bottom of the About phone tab where there is a Build number. this build number should say something like : kila-user 1.0TC4-RC19 109652 ota-rel-keys, release-keys (example).

The bold number i have highlighted within that build number shows which update version you are currently using !

hope this helps

My screen is messing up

Hi hope this helps. Turn off your e260. Slide the hold switch for it to show red/orange color. Then press the record button and the menu button until you see on the screen of the player "Welcome to Recovery Mode". Now go to the sandisk website and download the firmware update if you have not tried to update the firmware of the player. Run and install it on your computer, when it ask you to connect a device hook your player to the computer and then it will try to look for updates for the player. When it does update the firmware of the player. And also if you can get to the menus of the player you may want to format the player maybe it is your songs causing the problem. Switch the player to MSC then open My Computer and format your player on that window.
