If it was the cord of the guitar itself, you are pretty screwed, unless you look for damaged guitars at ebay and see if you can change it...

My new black x box 360 elite will not pair with wireless guitar hero guitar this worked fine with my last x box 360 which failed with the ring of death

Wireless guitar may have been damaged and if so you might have to buy a new controler for guitar hero . Its not the xbox 360 its the Wireless guitar the If sensor is either broken of a loose wire inside the guitar is causing the problem . If the problem persist do NOT open the guitar go buy a used one from gamestop or online . Amazon has cheap replacements around 10-15$ depending what wireless guitar your buying .

Guitar hero wireless guitar with PS2, guitar sync light seems to flash normally, but the receiver on the PS2 seems completly dead, can we change just the receiver part ?

Yes you can change just the receiver. There isn't anything wrong with your guitar so just change the receiver. The wireless guitars work with any other PS2 wireless guitar hero guitar receivers.

Xbox 360 wireless guitar connection

I had this issue myself today when I borrowed Guitar Hero III and the wireless guitar from a friend. Luckily I decided to scour the internet before I got so pissed that I broke an accessory that isn't mine.

There are TWO buttons that you have to push to connect a new wireless device to your 360 that isn't connecting automatically.

Step 1
There is a small white button on the face of the 360 just to the right of the controller wire ports. Press and hold this button until the light on your 360 starts to flash. This puts your system into pairing mode. When this happens:

Step 2
There is a small inconspicuous button on the bottom of the guitar near the strap connection When you press and hold this one you will see the lights around the x-box symbol flash in a circle.

If this does not solve your problem, chance are that you are indeed F*@KED and have to return yet another Microsoft product.

Wierd problem

With the 360 turned off try disconnecting the Hard Drive and your memory card, then re-connect them and reboot.
If it is still not loading try booting to the dashboard and go to the far right blade and click on "Memory", then "Gamer Profiles". If any are labeled "Corrupt Profile", delete it. Then run the recovery tool "Recover Gamertag".

Faulty usb port?

From your description it does sound like your Xbox 360 USB port is shot or you have just racked up the hours on three different guitar hero guitars. Not to doubt your skills or the dedication any of us have to the game I am just leaning towards it being the USB port. Here is the link to the Microsoft run down of how to eliminate the possible problems.

If you were still under warranty this would be the check list they would have you go through prior to taking the console back. I am assuming that since you have gone through three different guitars you were switching out the USB connector to see if you had a faulty connection on the cord connecting your guitar to your actual box. If you haven't checked this you could potentially solve the problem with $5 and a trip to best buy.

If you have already checked this I would check out this site that offers the manual on how to repair your Xbox. They have step by steps on how to solve just about any Xbox 360 and Playstation problems. Here is the link to the overall tutorial:">
In particular here is a link of fitting a standard USB port into your machine in case you feel like Frankensteining it:">
