In that receiver ther is a fuse that controls the display, I have the same unit, there are 4 fuses by the power supply, it would be one of those, I cant remeber which one but if the fuse is blown it will turn of the entire display. Check that out and if thats not the problem, then there is a short in the unit.

R9304 or R9310 are broken, if no light in display. This are 10 ohm resistor sitting on the board behind the volum knob in front.

How ca I (pre) set the tuning buttons on an AKAI AA-V105 stereo receiver. The owners manual is long lost

Now that is an oldie!
From memory, pardon the pun, I think search for the channel you want and press and hold the desired button number. If that doesn't work, there is a large value capacitor on the tuning board that leaks. Be very careful as it is poisonous. Handle with care when replacing it!
It may be worth looking for a manual but Akai went down the tubes in the UK and Europe many years ago.
Hope that fixes your dilema.

your display logic board has gone bad, this is common for some name brands. It most likely wont be worth fixing unless its a top quality name brand.

Akai AA-R32 & static electricity

HI...

I'm not what you want to sink into this.

The smell is a failed component on the display board
If its the processor/display driver , you'd be better off getting another receiver

If I repaired a unit like this ( if parts can be had ) it would run about $150

Th-l1 no back lit screen

Hello,
Although not fully familiar with your unit, many receivers have a small lamp behind the display panel. Sometimes they burn. It is not to easy to replace them bya DIY. If the unit works fine otherwise, it could be just that. lots of other units use Fluorescent type displays, and if they go bad, causes are more complex.
Good luck.

I have an akai aa-a25 reciver and right side speakers only work

I had this problem when I first got this receiver back out of years in a box, but it was fixed by pressing the reset button on the back. Hope that works for you!

TXSR875 reciever display

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

Two possibilities:
  • the Pure Audio feature has been engaged. This turns off the receiver's front panel display;
  • heat related issue. A common fault that develops is component failure, specifically, R9304, a 10 ohms dropping resistor connected inline with the +44V display supply.
Should you be considering a DIY (do-it-yourself) repair, please postback for procedures. Otherwise you may have to seek the services of an authorized service center (specially if under warranty) or a qualified professional

Hope that this be of initial help/idea. Good luck and thank you for using FixYa.
