Question about Televison & Video

1 Answer

I have a Mitsubishi WD52525 and the green light is blinking. I have changed the capacitors on the DM board and also a couple noticably bad ones on the Power module. The green light problem still exists. Is it a bad DM module?

Thanks. I believe I found a DM board on ebay. They have the part number listed as WD-52525 DM Board 934C1160 P447. I sent the seller a question about the part number because the one you listed has 02 at the end. I need to pull my DM out again and verify the number, I guess.

Changed DM board and blinking light still persists. What next??

  • kep890 Nov 24, 2009

I have checked and rechecked the connections and nothing. I do have one question about the connectors. I noticed that connector PA on the DM did not have anything to connect to. Is this left open intentionally?

Mitsubishi green blinking light of death

Hi Jim,

Green blinking light of death on Mitsubishi DLP TV means that the DM failed to booted up. I would advice you to replaced the 7 1000uf electrolytic capacitor on the DM board. Most of the time it fixed the symptoms. Please inquire at tvrepairworld.com if they have an available DM repair kit for V36 chassis (WD-57733 chassis).

I have a Mitsubishi WD52525. Green timer light blinking, tv won't come on. Read all directions for troubleshooting in owner's manual. Have pressed reset button, timer light never stops blinking. Unplugged...

You are not going to like this one little bit. The reason the LED won't stop blinking is because the digital module is not booting up. I have been fighting this model Mitsubishi for over five years now and the only solid fix is to send the entire chassis back to Mitsubishi for rebuilding. Pulling the chassis is a major job and with shipping costs and Mitsubishi's charges this repair usually runs around $750 to $850. However many owners that contacted Mitsubishi about this problem have gotten that portion of the repair bill coverd. That still leaves $300 to $400 for the tv shop that pulls the chassis and reinstalls it once it is rebuilt.

Green power light blinking all the time on TV

After changing a defective capacitor, my TV still would not power up. After using a solution I found on this site, I held the power and volume up button down on the TV itself for several seconds, the TV powered up normally. I did notice that you had to do this while the timer light was flashing. Doing so after it went out was not effective. I initially only replaced one capacitor which was noticeably defective, and the flashing green timer light eventually returned. I will be replacing all 7 capacitors and resetting the TV. As mentioned above, the capacitors may look good but in fact may be defective. These are high temp caps which breakdown under a load but function normally when cold. Several people have mentioned replacing the capacitors didn't fix the problem. It appears that you must replace and reset using this method to repair some of these TVs.

Blinking timer Light (Green)

Thats a common problem caused by defective capacitors on the DM PWB which prevent the set from booting up. The V26 DLP DM kit at the following link will usually repair that issue and it comes with step by step instructions on how to do the repair. Look under the repair kit category.
