Question about Kitchen Ranges

Cavaliere 218 series range hood lights don't work.

I have a Cavaliere series 218 range hood. The lights don't go on: pushing the lamp button illuminates the symbol on the display, but no lights go on. There is no voltage at the input of the step-down transformer.
The lights do occasionally and randomly go on for a few minutes.
I have tryed unplugging the unit to reboot the microprocessor to no avail.
What can Ido?

It's the connectors that lead from the transformer to the lights.
I had the same problem with the Vetron series and hard wiring them with new clips fixed the problem.

Has anyone else has this problem with the Cavaliere 218. My lights don't work either. They worked intermittently for a little while but now not at all. I can't find a dealer/repair company in South Florida.

Lights quit working on broad range hood

The tiny metal tabs that contact the very end of the light bulb after it is screwed in making a circuit get pushed back too far when you tighten the bulb and with all the steam and muck eventually fail to make contact. shut down the power and use a tiny screwdriver to gently nudge the electrical contacts back up "a little cleaning wouldn't hurt either" look at the very bottom of your bulb, clean that too perhaps with a few strokes of a wire brush, gently put the bulb back in and you are good to go, mine did the same thing.

Faulty switch for the lights? Measure the voltage in the lamp sockets - if you don;t know how, find someone with electrical experience to check it out.

Please see my reply at http://www.fixya.com/support/t9977585-sv168n_36_spagna. I think you may have a failed transformer.

How do you replace the light bulbs? There is a lens cover over the bulb.

This is how to replace the lights on the KitchenAid khlu162m hood. If this is not you hood please give the right make and model # so I can get you the right info.

Replacing the Halogen
lamps:
The hood liner uses 12-volt, 20
watt halogen lamp bulbs.
Before you begin, make sure that
the range hood is turned off and
that the lamps have had sufficient
time to cool.
To replace a halogen lamp:
• Remove 2 screws from the
circular metal trim around the
lamp assembly.
• Pull the trim with the lamp
assembly attached down far
enough so that the lamp can be
pushed out of the socket clips.
• Insert the new lamp into the
socket clips and push the lamp
and trim assembly back up into
the hood.
• Replace the screws.

Good Luck and please rate 4 thumbs up for the free answer.

Cavaliere 218 series range hood light stopped working. tried changing the bulbs still not working. what could be problem, maybe internal electrcal problem?

We have the same exact problem with our--218 series. The lights started going out, then just stopped coming on at all. It is not the bulbs--other people are having this problem. It must be a manufacturing issue.

I have a Cavaliere 218 range hood and the lights don't come on. Lamp button illuminates, but no lights come on. Bulbs are good.

We have a Cavalier range hood as well that the two halogen lights stopped working. Bulbs were good and the light switch illuminated. I ended up ordering and replacing the transformer and it works great:
