Question about RCA DRC8312N DVD Recorder/VCR

Open Question

DVD My player freezes I have not used this much as I did not have any DVD's when I bought the system. My RCA DVD Recorder/VCR Combo SR#523200763 when playing a DVD pauses and skips to the end. Some day it?s good and some not. When recording VCR to DVD it Skips, Pauses, Advanced to end, and in most cases locks (freezes) up. When this happens nothing works and there is no way to undo it except pull the plug to reboot the system. Of course, all previous recording, etc is lost at this point. I returned it to Office Max where I purchased it and received a new system. I didn?t use it again until after the store warrantee was up and found the this one is doing the SAME. I called RCA (case #10L13-DRC-8312N) and they said I had to bring it to a authorized repair shop at my own expense. I also tried the Unlocking feature, but nothing. Question: Is there a downloadable fix I can burn on a disk that will fix the problem?

Can you connect directly from the DTV converter to the DVD recorder input using RCA phono connector cables? You'll have to select the input on the recorder menu as well.

RCA 8295n dvd-vcr combo starts recording from VHS tape to disk and then stops.

Is the VHS tape a store bought movie or show?

MacroVision and other copy protection systems are put into store bought tapes and discs of movies and shows, and are read by your recording equipment. Once it reads this, it stops recording.

Does the screen turn red before it stops? This is one of the indications that MacroVision is stopping you.
