Question about RCA Universal Remote Control
You use that button a lot don't you. Try this before buying a new remote...Remove the battries, open the two halves of the remote, take a q-tip dipped in rubbing alcohol, or glass cleaner, and whipe down the black rubber carbon contacts on the underside of the button panel, then do the same for the little copper circles on the circut board where the buttons touch. I'd bet that you will get a lot of dirt off of both of them. let the remotes air dry for a few min, then put it back together-you may have to reprogram the remote-i hope you kept the codes book. That has always worked for me. It also works on telephone key pads too. Beats the heck outta' buying a new remote or portable phone.

Your question isn't complete, but I am assuming your problem is that the remote contol volume doesn't work anymore. If this is correct, I assume that the remote pad board in the remote contol is worn or bad. Unfortunatly, there is not a good fix to repair the remote rubber pad. It may be time to invest in a new remote. I hope this helps. Have a great evening
