Try going to this website and register your device it should tell you the specs. https://myservice.xbox.com/en-GB/pages/registerdevice.aspx

If it's an XBOX 360 look for the barcode sticker just above the AV port. The serial number is printed just below the barcode on the sticker.

The Wii: Lie the Wii on its side so the Nintendo label on the bottom is facing up. Locate the "Serial No:" bar code and read your 12 character alpha-numeric serial number.

The serial number isn't on the box unfortunately... but it should be on your sales receipt. That rectangle hole that is cut in your xbox's box is the way to see the xbox system's serial number through the box but they don't print it on the box itself. When you buy an XBox 360, the salesperson scans the barcode from the back of the XBox which contains the serial number.

Your in luck the console is still under microsofts warranty, click on the link www.xbox.com/support to book a repair, you will need the serial number that can be found on the back of the console, and a printer to print the ups shipping label, but don't take too long, you only have a month for this fault.

mine just did the same thing. bought it from walmart last month now i have to return it luckily they have a 90 day policy and can exchange for a new one instead of mailing it to xbox and waiting almost 2 weeks. my hardrive did however work in a different xbox just not on my console. sucks lost all my saved & installed games now gotta go back to blockbuster and re-rent the games so i can install them again! if you cant return yours, xbox will pay for your shipping you can print the shipping tags online from xbox.com

this is what is call YLOD and 70% of all ps3's with the same problem they can be fixed but only with the right tools and equipment this is not like the xbox 360 that almost anybody can fix so it is more complicated I am an ebay trusted power seller I sell ps3's and xbox 360 and I do fix both systems my user Id on ebay is flacooo1 for anybody who has the same problem I charge $65.00 dls to fix the ps3 and $ 50.00 dls for xbox 360 but I only charge costumers if the system can be fix all you have to do is ship the item to me and also purchase a return label so I can return your system back

All xbox 360 consoles on the day of purchase automatically come with a three year warranty.All u need to do is ring xbox if its playing up and they will pick it up fix it and bring it back in about three weeks.I cant remember the number but if u go into one of your local game shops they will have a leaflet with this number.Hope this helps you.Joe Stevenson

well when you go to the site, it will ask you to put in information about yourself and your xbox like serial number and stuff. Based on that serial number the website will tell you if your xbox is under warreny. If it is they will mail you a box for free with a free return label for them. It will not cost you anything to mail it. If its defective they will fix it or send a new one. MY 360 elite died on me and i did all that and it was about a month and they sent me a brand new one because they couldnt fix my old one and they gave me a free month of xbox live.
