Question about Computers & Internet
On/off button for hp Pavilion PC fails to fully start the PC. The fans come on, but it appears the button is failing to fully power the whole pc -like the system board. The blue light in the button fails to stay on. Rarely, I can hit the button and the blue light stays on and everything seems to power up ok -but that was once in 30 start attempts.
I wonder if this switch (looks replaceable) is bad and can be replaced - has 6 wires from it to the system board?
It sounds like a motherboard. HP is notorious for this problem.

I worked on an older system and it could be a bad motherboard
