Hello.

From Kodak, if problems picking up paper:

IMPORTANT: Use only Kodak color cartridge & paper kits for your printer dock. Do not use inkjet paper.

The paper tray may be empty. Load paper, re-install the paper tray, then press .

Check the paper:

Remove the paper tray (Installing and removing the paper tray).

Inspect the paper supply: make sure paper is not damaged in any way, or removable tabs have not been detached. Reload with new paper if necessary.

Carefully "fan" the paper to keep the sheets from sticking together.

Reload the paper tray. Do not exceed the fill line.

Re-install the paper tray, then press to resume printing.

If necessary, clean the paper feed roller:

IMPORTANT: Disconnect the power before cleaning.

1. Remove the paper tray from the printer dock, and leave the paper tray door open.

2. Lightly moisten a lint-free cloth with water.

IMPORTANT: Do not use cotton or cotton swabs to clean the paper feed roller.

3. Use the moistened cloth to gently wipe clean the surface of the paper feed roller. Advance the feed roller with your thumb as necessary, and continue cleaning.

4. Allow the paper feed roller to fully dry before reconnecting the power.

From Kodak, to remove cartridge:

1. Open the cartridge door on the side of the printer dock.

2. Check to make sure there is no slack in the color cartridge ribbon.

To remove slack, push in on the cartridge spool, then rotate the spool clockwise.

IMPORTANT: Be careful not to rotate the spool more than that necessary to remove slack. Doing so could reduce the number of prints you are able to make.

3. Slide the color cartridge in, label side up, with the arrow pointing toward the printer dock. Push the cartridge until it "clicks" into place.

4. Close the cartridge door.

To remove the color cartridge, open the cartridge door, then push up on the green lever and slide the cartridge out.

IMPORTANT: The color cartridge may lock in place if there is a paper error. Do not attempt to remove the cartridge without first clearing the paper error. Make sure the Paper light is off before attempting to remove the cartridge.

Hope this helps.

Hi,

Unplug the machine and then Turn it back ON after few minutes. Reinstall all the drivers. If the problem persists, then it sounds as there are foreign objects like a paper clip that jams the paper sensor. And so doing this procedure works out 80% of the times !! ...

This problem can happen because of following reasons :
1. There is some piece of paper / paper clip / sticker stuck inside printer and you are not able to access it. You need to open it up as much you can to see if something is stuck

2. The electric sensor which receives signal from the mechanical paper sensor has issues. Either there is dust on it or its gone bad and needs replacement. You should first open up the printer and blow air in it (using compressed air can) to remove all dust. If it doesn't work then this repair will cost you much more than buying a new Printer.

Let me know, if needed further assistance.

Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

Connon mp210 error message "ink absorber is full"

When the print head parks there is an absorbent pad directly under the cartridge. It is there to catch the ink when you do a head clean operation. Take out the ink cartridge and remove the pad with a tooth pick so you don't get ink all over yourself. Run it under a water faucet to clean the ink off the pad. Use a paper towel to dry out the pad and then reinstall in the printer.

I have a hp psc 1209 all in one printer and it will pick up paper and sound like its printing but when the paper is ejected its blank

Hey Janet,
Sorry but sometimes we miss something simple - I am not familiar with this particular printer, but had to find out if it is an ink jet or a toner cartridge unit - With ink cartridges, has the printhead still got ink?, has the printhead part that sprays ink, gotten plugged up with dried ink?(Remove it and soak it in some hot water for 5 min or so and wipe with a lint free cloth in one direction only, to clean it, then reinstall it and try a test pring again), or lastly, did you change the cartridge and forget to remove the protective tab, it might be like a piece of tape or an actual removable plastic cover?

Printer gives incorrect messages

I would suggest removing cartridges get some alcohol based claner with a lint free cloth and clean off the rollers by the pickers (where the paper gets picked up) also check for any loose papers and clean them out open the rear access door and give the rear rollers a clean aswell. before re-inserting the cartridges while machine is on remove power cable wait about 15 seconds and plug power cable back in - and re-insert the cartridges and test

Paper feed is jamming ,I have not even gone through the original ink cartridges yet,so i haven`t done a lot printing

Things to do remove the papers jammed inside the printer.
  1. Please Turn off this Canon Pixma 2600 printer.
  2. Remove any paper trays. Inspect them for wrinkled or damaged paper or any piece of paper got trapped in the printer..
  3. Also open the back cover of the printer if this model has one.
  4. Open any other doors that give access to the printer's paper path and to the toner or ink cartridge.
  5. If necessary, remove the toner or ink cartridge. Place it away from light/ sun light to avoid damaging it.
  6. If you find a piece of jammed paper, remove it by holding it with both hands and pulling firmly. The goal is to keep the paper from tearing. If several pieces are jammed together, try pulling out the middle piece first to loosen the jam.
  7. If the paper does tear, try rotating the roller gears manually to free the paper. Do it carefully with utmost care.
  8. Do this step especially if the jam message comes up repeatedly without any obvious paper jam, there may be a small tear of paper inside.
  9. Ones the printer is free of paper Replace the toner or ink cartridge and paper trays, close any doors you opened and turn the printer back on. Before inserting the Toner or Catridge, please wipe the roller with cloth gently.
  10. If the printer paper jam message still appears, then there is still some paper in the printer. Reinspect the paper path.
See alternative if the problem is still not solved.

alternative :
Load a piece of thick paper, for example photo paper and press the resume button (may be diffrent button on diffrent models) a few times to the printer picks up the paper and puts it through the machine.

Mfc not used for 3 years. seems be printing but no ink comes on paper

It is my belief that ink has dried in the all-in-one printer ports.

Ink flows through minuscule, little ports, (Holes), in the ink cartridge.
These are covered by metallic foil tape when you get a new ink cartridge, that you are instructed to remove, before installing.

On the all-in-one printer, it has matching holes. When the ink cartridge is installed, it's holes line up with those holes. I think ink has dried in these holes, on the printer.

It would be my suggestion to clean these holes. It's not hard, you use a warm water, damp clean cloth.

-> Printer Unplugged from power
Open the printer to remove the ink cartridges. It is at this point, that I would advise donning a pair of rubber gloves. (Dish washing?)
Helps to keep the ink off of your hands, and fingers, just in case.
(The ink cartridges are open now)
Remove the ink cartridges. Soak a clean, lint free cloth, in as warm a water as you can stand. The warm water helps to dissolve old dried ink. Wring the cloth out until it is damp, NO drips.

You should be able to judge where the holes are in the printer body, by the area on the ink cartridge. Wipe in one direction, on this hole area. (The holes are so tiny, that you won't really be able to see them. {Or maybe I need better glasses! lol!}
Wipe what you think is the area. Looking at the ink cartridge, and where you removed the tape from the cartridge, you'll have a pretty good idea.

Once you wipe across, and pick up ink, I suggest using a different clean area of the cloth, and do it again. I would do this procedure, until there is very little, or none, picked up by the cloth. (Ink)

Once you are satisfied that this area is cleaned, I would use a hair dryer to speed up drying. You don't want this area to be wet, when you reinstall the ink cartridges. Hair dryer on low, keep it constantly moving back and forth.
When you are satisfied it is dry, reinstall the ink cartridges. Close the printer case. Plug it back into power. (Hands dry, no gloves. Not trying to insult your intelligence)

Turn the printer on. Wait until it resets itself. I would now go to the Diagnostic section, and do diagnostics. Then align the heads, and print a test.
