How do you make sure the wi fi network adaptor is installed correctly and enabled?

  • dyno_mover Nov 14, 2009

Under other devices there are yellow question marks. The network connector has a yellow question mark also. It says I need software to install and the dell site will not allow me to download the driver from this computer. It repeatedly says Internet unable to display.

    Any other suggestions?

    Thank you

For that you have to make sure that wireless lan is enable in bios settings.
When you power up the computer press F1 or F2 or "del" key to enter in bios.
Then advanced menu enable wi fi lan.
Then save settings and exit.
Make sure wi fi switch on laptop is turn on.
Make sure wi fi network adapter driver of laptop installed correctly and enable.
Then you are able to connect wi fi.
Let me know if you need further assistance.

  • Right click on my computer icon then click on property.
Then click on hardware ->Device manager.
Then you can see list of all drivers.
Make sure there is wireless driver in list in "Network Adapter"
Also make sure there isn't any ? mark or yellow ! mark.
Let me know if you need further assistance.

  • If there is

  • If there is any yellow ! mark then you need to uninstall that driver then reinstall.

The reason why the wireless is not working because the driver or the software for the wireless adapter is not installed on the computer , to correct this problem download the wireless software from this link, download the wireless driver and then install it and everything should be working after that...You can find the wireless driver from the Network

Try first to Right click the device with the yellow question mark and select update driver and if this laptop can get online while wired to the router that will be fine so you can do a online update, after you right click it you select update driver and check the option to connect to the internet and then the wizard will do a online search for the driver of it and just wait until it install the needed driver for the wireless adapter..........

Check if you have the driver installed for Local Area Network. If not download it and check. This should work then.

HI have a Dell Latitude D 600 which has built in network card but not sure which one. Had to reformat disk and load win xp and service pack 2. Laptop does not see it had the wireless network card. So can...

There are about a dozen Dell drivers you'll need to load. If you can download these on another unit to a flash drive. Then install on your laptop. If you don't have another unit, take your flash drive to your nearest public libray. There you can download what you need to a flash drive.

Computer suddenly does not recognize my external drive

I assume you have look at the Microsoft Knowledgebase article?

You can also check this troubleshooting article.

You might need to force reinstallation of some devices, the external HDD at least, but maybe also the USB controller device in the Device Manager.

Worst case scenario, open the disk and connect the HDD internally (IDE/SATA depending on the interface).

Inspirion B130 DVDRW drive

On the bottom of the notebook under the DVD drive push the latch to eject the DVD module. Once the module is ejected gently re-insert the module using both thumbs until you hear a click. Your DVD should now be recognized by the computer.

HP Presario V3000 internal wireless card not recognized

what OS? (means operating system)? we cant guess it...
xp/vista/w7/w8/w10,? what?
is it same OS as day 1 new?
xp, does it have service pack 3 installed? if not, it wont work right.
ever.
if yes, XP did you install all drivers for this PC from HP.com
oops they are gone...
try to know that drivers for chips below the card must be good first.
3 years old to you?
it not a 3 year old model at all. its a dead product with a square screen,.'

its an old COMPAQ, 2006 , is my guess on DATE.
looks like it has VISTA.
Vista support ended this month
and support is gone to on V3000 at HP.
if you dig deep using HP, Google site searches some lingering elements remain.

http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c01037981.pdf

like that .
the time to get DRIVER is before its 10 years old
HP, dumps them at 10, or soon after that.

find a newer lap top that has wide screen and upgraded
it give this to the goodwill. (in fact they have newer ones cheap)

it is a COMPAQ 2006 (HP bought them out LONG AGO)

compaq is dead.

This is Romeet, id like to help you with the problem. Unfortunately it seems a lot of things that you love :) wont work right? well, Let me know if you are running windows xp with what service pack? service pack 1 or service pack 2? to do this, right click the icon " My Computer " and select properties,a system properties dialog will open, on the top right you should be able to see:

System:
Microsoft Windows XP
Professional / Home ( Depends what you have )
Version ( 2002 )
Service Pack X ( X could be 1 or 2 )check this and let me know
