Question about Texas Instruments TI-83 Plus Calculator

How do I fix it? What is wrong with it? I was told there is something wrong with the stat points being on or something but I'm not sure how to turn them off or how to tell if they are off. Help would be great!

Re: Invalid dimension error on my TI-83 plus?

This is a pretty vague problem but not much of a problem. Your actualy plotting device of your stat plot is under your "y=". But before you do that you need to hit the stat button right next to the blue apps button. Then hit edit. These are your stat data. If you are trying to add data in you should notice what list they are under. (top of the screen L1, L2, ect.) You should also make sure that the number of data adds up for your two list. Now that you have done that you can go to "2nd" then hit "y=". If you don't want to graph your stat plots just make sure they all sat plot... off by hitting enter on the one that says that it is on. Now if you want one on hit enter and make sure your lists from your data match up with your stat plot. You can hit enter and see what one you need. they are above the 1, 2, 3, etc key. Hope this works. If all else fails you can clear your calculator by pressing "2nd", "+", "7", "1", "2". This will turn off all your stat plots if you have trouble understandsing this. b

You're probably trying to graph a function that does not involve stat plot features. You can correct this by turning off the stat plot features. Press "2ND" "STAT PLOT" and then select 4:PlotsOff.

If this doesn't fix it, please reply to this post and tell us what you're trying to do when you get this error.

You must deactivate the statistical plots. If you do statistical graphs, the graphing is reconfigured in a way that happens to be incompatible with regular fuction graphs.

- To deactivate the statistical plots.
- Press [2nd][Y=] to access the (STAT PLOT) menu.
- Press [4:PlotsOff][ENTER].
- Calculator displays Done.
- You are ready to draw the function graphs.

Well it seems that you are graphing stat points and forgot to turn them off. This can be easily fixed by going to 2nd and Stat Plot then make sure all the stat plots are turned off. This should solve your issue.

Hey,

I had the same problem as you. My ti-84 plus said all the time Err: INVALID DIM.

The sign next to Y1, Y2 etc was different. It was not the ussual' /' But an arrow.

I have reset my Ti and now it works. Thx!
