The brushes have stopped spinning altogether unless I manually reach it and turn them every 30 seconds.

Motor is running but brushes don't spin as it seems they keep getting stuck on something. May have to take off clear plastic housing to see if that helps.

That indicates a bad motor.

If you have to give it a push the motor is bad. This means it is not completely burned out, but the winding inside had been overheated, and it is shorted. You will also noticed that the motor is extremely hot.

I took the top off of the base and loosened the 4 screws that go into the white rotating brush base. It has worked great since.

Brush doesnt turn

Look for the reset button on the side of the brushbar housing - there should be a red sticker and a red button. Push it once. It's
not gonna stay depressed, it's gonna pop right out - that's normal.
- Step on the red pedal on the back
- Turn the machine on with the red power button
- Press the gray button next to the red power button - this is the ON/OFF switch for the brushbar - if it doesn't spin, press and hold the gray button down for 10 seconds
- If it still isn't spinning, remove the brushbar and make sure nothing is blocking it and withholding it from spinning

Have a bissell easy vac 3130-B and the brush on the bottom stopped turning i never looked before so i don really know if it turned in the first place

Behind the brush will be a metal thing that spins when the vacuum runs. That's what the belt loops over with the other end around the brush. You can sometimes find the belts a places like wal mart.

I have seen belts wear faster than that, believe it or not. Here is a link to the belt you need and a link to the manual:

Roomba turning off after 30 sec.

I was having the same problem. Roomba would run for 30 seconds and then stop. I tried everything -- then I took the small rubber brush out and removed the small nut at the end. It was packed with dust to the point that it could not turn easily. I cleaned it out and now it is working like a champ. I think the automatic shut down was just a sign that there was too much strain to turn the brushes.

Rainbow SE power nozzle

If the brush is spinning ok, and the belt isn't slipping, then probably the circuit breaker is bad, or the motor is causing the problem.
