Question about Toshiba Satellite A100-S8111TD Notebook
If your laptop is shutting off its because of heat. replace the cpu fan and that will fix your problem. the fan is out if your laptop is turning off. this isnt a sofware issue its hardware. your laptop turns off because the mother board has a fail safe so it wont over heat so at a specific temp it will shut down to prevent damage.

Pop the CD-ROM tray "ajar" -- i.e., just slightly open.
Turn the computer off.
Remove the battery.
Take a can of compressed-air, and give the computer a "blow-job",
to remove all caked-on dust that it providing a layer of insulation
over the "radiators" that should be radiating heat.
Squirt air into every orifice that you can find, including under the edges of the keyboard, and into the CD-ROM.
Try NOT to breathe any of the dust being expelled from your computer.
