    Teis,

Thank you from somone in the future looking up the same info...but for an SG30...it all adds up as you search around the net.

    I'm looking for a working SG30 image.

I have insatlled the UMBUNTU version above but found it not as userfreindly as the tosh GUI.

    Still looking though

for anyone else looking. in my case

the tosh original install disks dont work, it gets so far then sits forever.

the images that are available on ESwebs come up as corrupt when you get to installing through acronis. (including the separate rar download). if I ever get one I will share it.

I have a 2.6 image, the last released I believe. Send me your disk with return shipping and I will re-image it for you. Check my name on Ebay and you will see I am an honest broker.

When less than a quarter feel the need to vote for the effort some of us at FixYou offer, I think to myself, ”is it worth it”.

They get help, and do not care to thank you; “thank you” do not cost a dime, so why????

Cannot access admin functions toshiba magnia sg20

If it was unplugged for any period of time, it is probably reset to default settings. Password is default, etc and you are trying to access with the wrong credentials.

Try resetting it manually and starting as if you just purchased it, if you continue to have problems. There should be a reset button or procedures on how to reset in the documentation.

Looking for the backup option for computer

I suggest that you use Norton Ghost v14.0 and create a compressed image of your primary partition to a DVD-R. You can use my autoupdate of Norton Antivirus Update Defintions for use with Ghost v14.0 for pre-boot virus scans, download the ISO burner and creater HERE or HERE please keep my links alive.

This will allow you to reinstall after catastrophic failure of your HDD.

If you just want to backup your images and documents a good U3 stick drive or USB harddrive is an excellent option for storing your document folders.

Ibm thinkpad T40 Hard Drive change out

After fdisk and format you need to ensure that operative system is installed into yor hard drive. Using ghost you restore the image disk by booting from ghost image CD if you made a bootable image disk. Ensure Bios is set up to boot from CD.
If you used Norton Ghost ensure you captured the image of full bootable original hard disk drive for same computer. If it does not boot after restoring ghosted image, than the image it is probably not complete. If hard disk image is not good, easiest thing to do is using Windows install CD to installl again operative system, then you eventually restore ghost image.

Upon startup after hard password reset, server status stuck on "Working..."

Your image is corrupt from an improper shut down. I had the same problem. Reinstall default .TIB and it will boot fine.

Computer no longer recognizes server

Assuming this problem is for ANY computer, not just the one.
If you still have internet access through the device, but cannot see network shares, your Samba server is down. If a full restart does not solve the problem, you need to learn Samba/Linux -or- you need to re-image the drive to factory defaults.

Need to reset to factory setting

Press reset button on back of unit AFTER system has fully booted (time will be displayed) and your system will be back to default values - password = applianceadmin.

You can also re-image the drive to factory defaults.
