this is happening due to driver fault
first try it on different usb ports otherwise
right click on my computer > proporties>device manager goto usb controller find device with exclamation mark...right click it and click remove to remove it...now use cd you've got or search internet for correct drivers
restart the pc
now connect your device ..in the found new hardware, manually(not automatically) give the location of drivers you've downloaded and go....

You must use a SDHC compatible reader/writer, please check if the readers of your Mac and printer can handle this kind of SD, if they don't, you could use a USB SDHC compatible reader.
