Question about Dell Inspiron 6400 Notebook
After i have switched on the laptop and working on WiFi , the WiFi connection switches off on a unexpected moment after pressen the knob on the front side it will switch on again on this moment i am working with a sweex WiFi usb , and that is working perfect , but i want to use the internal WiFi connection .
On the same time sometimes the keybord and touchpad won't work , when i take the batterie out and plug it back again everything is normal again .
This laptop is just over a year old and the problem with the WiFi is from the very beginning .
I know it's difficult but can you give me some suggestions .
I have a Dell inspiron 6400 and also have a problem of the Wifi turing itself off when in use. I then have to restart the laptop to reconnect the Wifi until it turns itself off again. It doesn't have a trend of when this is likely to happen.
Don't know if this will work with your Dell, but on my Averatec, I had to do the following.
Go to Start>Right click on My Computer and select Properties. Click on the Hardware tab, and Device manger. Click on + by the Network Adapters. Right click on your wireless, Intel or Broadcom wireless adapter, and click on Advanced. Findd the Minimum Power Consumption and make sure it is disabled. If you have a Power Management tab, click on it, and uncheck both boxes.

click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

SOURCE: WiFi turns itself off
You may want to consider replacing the motherboard, since the Wifi 'is on the motherboard' and the Keyobard connects directly to the motherboard. You may want to check to see if there are any firmware (BIOS) updates available for your particular model.
Also, check Acer's or whoever your manufacturer is, on their support site to see how to perform a BIOS reset.
