Mode problem

Hi,

I've had my camera for two years with no problems. All of the sudden, when i went to look at my pics, the "view" mode wouldn't stay on. It briefly let me see the latest pic, then went back to live. So i tried taking a pic, and it wouldn't let me do that either. The only thing that helped very temporarily is taking out the battery and putting it back in again. But that doesn't help anymore. i've tried all the buttons and menu and manual to try to fix it, but can't find anything to change it. I've reinserted the memory card as well. Can anyone help?
