Logitech MX1000 Laser Cordless Mouse, I replaced the li-ion battery with a NiMh AAA battery pack, soldered in the board that was on the old battery and used it for a week before the battery pack needed recharging. the new battery pack will not take a full charge, but does charge... any Ideas on what is needed to have the battery pack charge...emf

need to have a deep charge?

li-ion battery don't need as much emf(electromotive force)to force electrons to charge the battery pack as the NiMH battery does.
Electricity is measured in volts , amps ans watts.
volts is the pressure that is applied to have electron flow. Amps, is a measurement of the work being done,
and watts is the amount of energy that is a combination of the volts and amps.

Li-Ion battery and NiMh battery have completely different charging requirements! Li-Ion battery has much stricter charging requirement and the regulator is normally design to trickle charge at 0.1 Current rating @ 4.2V and then completely shut down.
WARNING: if you use a Ni-Mh charger on a Li-Ion battery, then it will erupt and even explode and catch fire!
Bottom line is that the rescued Li-ion regulator is not designed for your Ni-Mh pack and you will never get a full charge with it and you will need a completely different regulator board: you are better off putting in a suitably sized Li-Ion battery with inbuilt regulator but with higher current rating if possible.
Hope it helps! Let me know how you go.

Docking station for MX1000 Laser mouse not working

That docking station has a lithium-ion battery in it that supposedly never needs replacing. I'm wondering if the battery did go out on it and needs to be replaced. If there is now way to get inside of the docking station then you will need to get another mouse, cause you can't just get the docking station.

Pretty much I cannibalized a pack of battery charging adapter plates, soldered the three wires to them, trimmed & bent them a little.. and then epoxied them down to the battery hold-down in their appropriate places. A little trimming was done on the plastic so the contacts could reach in far enough without obstruction.

After having the mouse sit around useless without a working battery in it.. for months, which definitely irritated me... I looked up 3.7V li-ion batteries and came across the "klic-5001 battery" (google it) and ordered two. The first one I destroyed trying to solder the wires directly to the battery contacts.. which just ruined all the internal li-ion battery components(i.e. DO NOT TRY DOING THAT)... the second battery, which I never tampered with whatsoever, is connected to the mouse via the contacts I described above. The klic-5001 batteries by the way do fit very well in the hold-down meant for the original battery.

End result: one, exceptionally well working MX1000 mouse which I can replace the rechargeable battery inside anytime it begins to get to aged and not working so well... ^_^ It charges as normal and the battery monitoring works like nothing ever changed.

Im having difficulty in charging my mouse -my stand is plugged in -i've cleaned the contacts -i've reset several times and it still doesnt charge

Verify with a tester that the cradle is supplying power. If it is, the mouse rechargeable battery might be gone; if it's one of the models with common NiMh AAAA ("pencil thin") batteries inside, you can even replace them by yourself.

Wheres the compartment to change the battery its a logitech wireless mouse

@JSShears, this isn't a simple battery compartment. It requires that you remove the two rear glide pads, then peel back the label just to the left of "FCC" and just to the right of the crossed-out garbage can.

BEFORE you do this, realize that you may not be able to find a suitable lithium-ion battery that fits (and works) AND that you may not be able to adhere the label and glide pads to like-new condition.

The battery is custom for Logitech, labeled "L-LB2", specs are 3.7V, 1700mAh.

Since the unofficial "replacements" range from $30-40 plus shipping, to $10+shipping+soldering....it may be cheaper to buy a new mouse.

Strange, I just left logitech page for MX 1000 Laser Cordless Mouse. All they sell is the AC Adapter. Thought that was odd.
Their not selling replacement batterys, just the AC adapter.
Click this link: http://www.buylogitech.com/store/logius/en_US/DisplayCategoryProductListPage/categoryID.11197300

If you scroll down to the bottom of the page & look to the right there is a toll free No# you can call.
Still find it strange that logitech sells the AC adapter & not the battery. Make you think your battery is good & the adapter is bad.

Good Luck & kind Regards.
& please vote.
