Question about ASUS Eee PC 2G Surf Notebook

Web pages not showing everything that is there

My eee Pc running XP. I use firefox for browsing, but the pages don't work. For e.g. if there is a menu bar for a website that when you hover over it, a drop down menu comes up, I don't see anything. I am also having problems seeing all the lists in my iTunes. That means in browser mode I don't see the genres, artist list or song list on the top grid. I see the "All (31 genres)" but nothing below it unless i highlight the unknown area then i see the artist, genre etc.

the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of.(from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones)
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Goodluck!

Hi Rattlesnakep!

It seems that the internet browser you are currently using is already weak.

If you are using Facebook.com frequently, I would suggest switching your internet browser to Mozilla
Firefox. And install the latest version of Adobe Flash Player.

Both of these will help loading the Facebook web page and all its applications.

Here: please go to these sites to download and run it to install.

1. http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/new/
2. http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/

If you don't want to use Mozilla Firefox, go to the TOOLS menu of your internet browser, clear everything on the browsing history, clear caches and remove all cookies. Upgrade your Adobe Flash Player.

That will also fix your problem.

If you have other questions, please leave a comment.
Thank you for using Fixya.

Hi, I have bought a used asus 701 4g. when browsing it sometimes crashes and reverts to desktop. How do I find out which edition of firefox i have and howdo I upgrade it if necessary. I missed out on...

John,

You can find the version of Firefox you are using by going to Help > About Mozilla Firefox when inside the browser. Firefox usually prompts for upgrades, but on limited or old versions of Linux such as that on the Eee PC 701 (Xandros, to be specific), that doesn't always work. Check out the Add/Remove Software utility under Settings for updates.

Netbook is wirelessly connected, but can't browse web sites

Shouldn't have to do much. I bought my daughteran ASUS Eee netbook with XP on it and it immediately connected to my wireless. Shouldn't be anything special to the settings unless you have specified these in your network settings on the router. If everything is set to default on the router, you should be able to connect with ease. I would enable WEP security on the router though.

How to clear the search history on the google search bar . is there a phone number that I can call as I am new to the computer world. Thanks

If you are using "Internet Explorer" as your web browser:

  1. Open Internet Explorer
  2. Goto "Tool"
  3. Goto "Internet Options"
  4. Under "Browsing History", hit "Delete"
  5. On the next box hit "Delete All"
This will delete everything in the search bar.

If you are using "Mozilla FireFox" as your browser:
  1. Open FireFox
  2. Goto "Tools"
  3. Goto "Clear Private Data" or "Clear Recent History"
  4. Select all checkboxes
  5. Click "Clear Now"

That will clean you right up. You can also download a program called "CCleaner". After you browse the web, run that program and it deletes all of your searching and browsing history along with temporary files left behind from the browser
