Dishwasher not completely drained and alarming

If this is an F11 mile dishwasher problem please do not make the same mistake as us and RECHECK the non return valve thoroughly. We had checked this before calling out the engineeer only to be charged 75pounds (as it was still under guarantee) instead of the normal 117pounds A tiny shard of pottery had become trapped, which my husband had not seen (when he took the non return valve out of the machine). After this was removed the dishwasher was fixed at an unneccessary cost of 75 pounds. A very expensive mistake indeed especially as we thought it was a pump problem and we had done everything by the book to sort the problem ourselves.

My Miele dishwasher has the red drain light on and won't drain

most common, debris stuck in the drain pump. remove the triple filter, remove the non return valve. clear the debris from the drain pump impeller. try to drain again. also make sure you dont have an obstruction in the drain line. if you replaced your garbage disposal recently, make sure they knocked out the drain plug when they connected the dishwasher. also make sure your dishwasher drain line connects directly to the disposal, and does not run to a air gap in your countertop. miele dishwashers will not function properly when connected to an air gap.

Miele g 842sc plus dishwaher

hi,

most common faults with dishwashers is a drain fault. Check for any kinked hoses and check the drain spigot under the sink where the drain hose connects into the u bend. Usually this is where food gets trapped due to the spigot not being drilled out large enough. This then causes a blockage. Also check the non return valve under the filter and make sure the drain pump can turn freely.
Hope this helps.

I have a Miele Inspira line dishwasher and it is making a horrible sounds when I turn it on - like the water is not getting through easily

Hi If noise starts within one minute of start of program then you most likely have debris in drain pump. Under filter you will find non return valve remove valve this will expose drain pump impeller. with non return valve removed run program for 30 seconds refit valve and test. More in depth instructions available in user handbook.

My miele g886 dishwasher intake/drain light keeps coming on. I checked the filter and the non return valve and drain pump. It all seems ok. I read somewhere that there is a drip pan under 2 bottom panels....

Hi,

the inlet/drain light is a standard fault light and can mean anything without connecting the Miele dianostic software to the unit. This is only available to Miele service techs or service agents. If the light comes on in the first minute then it is probably a drain fault. Try checking the drain spigot at the sink end where the drain hose connects as these are usually the cause of most dishwasher faults.Hope this helps

Non return valve

Has it always done this? If so it was an install issue. The tech should have put the drain above the drain with a loop to prevent backfill.
