Question about Dishwashers
Whirlpool Dishwasher DU1055XTPQ0.
Purchased this dishwasher 3 years ago and have been having problems from the beginning. The problem is that it stops during mid cycle and the clean button flashes 7 times. I am aware this is a very common problem. When it was still under warranty, we had a service call on it, and fixed the problem by setting our hot water heater over 130 degrees. The 2nd time this occurred and it wasn’t under warranty, the service company was nice enough to let us know the fix – Push the High Temp Button then Heated Dry button - hit back and forth 3 times and the washer will reset itself. This usually will reset the machine for about 3 months and then it happens again. It has happened again and I have tried to reset it 3 times but now it does not fix it.
2 months ago, we also had a problem were had it shut down during a cycle but that time we did not have any lights or power to the unit, and had to replace the fuse, which did fix that problem. (I am one of the lucky ones that has a husband that is very handy)
Since these are such a common problems, doesn’t Whirlpool have a fix? Or is my fix simply to replace the unit? Do you think I will ever buy another Whirlpool appliance again?
A 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

SOURCE: clean light flashes
You will have to reset the console. To do this, close the door and press these buttons in sequence...
-high temp wash
-high temp wash
...all the lights will turn on briefly and the machine will start a diagnostic cycle. You can press cancel or let the diagnostic cyle finish (1-2 minutes).
You should now be able to run the dishwasher as normal.

I have a QuietGuard 3. The sequence Hi Temp, Heated Dry two times initiated a "lock on" so I tried reversing it to Heated Dry then Hi Temp (twice) and now my machine is operating normally. Thanks so much for this helpful, money saving information!
