Question about Washing Machines
If there is an humming noise, then it is almost for sure a fault. There is no much you can do apart calling a technician.
Check the lint filter (PS1814710) if there is too much lint in there you may overheated and blown the fan motor.
Try disconnecting power from appliance for about ten minutes, then connect back, this may clear a problem caused by a jammed timer board circuit.
If that does not work there is a fault.
Common faults that can cause humming or buzzing noise in this model are:
Broken belt: PS2041323 (part 21- diag.2) - the multi rib belt is broken or lose. The motor running alone will make a soft humming noise.
Faulty motor: PS2021298 (p.23-D1.)- The motor will not start and keeps humming.
Faulty fimer board: PS2039578 (P.16-D3)- If the humming noise is coming from timer board, then the control board is faulty. This problem is quite common. Timer wiring must be tested before replacing timer board.
