Please DO NOT spray any type of silicon or grease on your fan !

These types of spray ATTRACT dust and will acrually make the issue worse.

Your fan speeds up and slows down in response to temperature inside the computer. More so the CPU.

I would suggest getting a can of compressed air made for computers

take it outside, take of the side and blow all the gunk out of there, Really go to town around the fan (you might want to wear eye protection)
While you are in there just check that the CPU cooler itself is not loose

If it is it will have to be re-seated.

If it needs re-seating don't just take it off and put it back on as that might make things worse with your temperature problem they have to be cleaned and new thermal grease put on ($2-5)

DON'T remove the CPU just the fan/cooler assembly.

You must clean both the surfaces without scraping anything off with anything metalic (fingernails are OK). Use isopropynol alcohol and cotton bud sticks until both surfaces are clean, you can use your finger nail to scrape harder residue if you wish but nothing else.

DON'T pour the alcohol over the CPU

Now apply some new thermal grease (most computer shops have it)

Be careful about how much you put on

Here are
some basic instructions

Once you have re-assembled your cooler and re-connected it check everything is OK and power up the computer.

If everything went to plan you should now be back in business

If its not the CPU cooler then it would be the power supply fan.

If you understand how to remove the fan and replace it then they are quite cheap to do yourself.

BEWARE of possible high voltage in the PSU even after being switched off !

If you don't then the next best option is a replacement power supply as these are quite cheap too and very easy to replace the whole unit.

If you replace the whole PSU select one that has a higher capacity than the one you are using.

EG if your PSU is a 350 Watt then a 400 Watt or higher will be better in the long run.

Knocking sound in Engine of Kia Sephia when driven longer.

It sounds like valve train noise. The best thing to do is have the dealer listen to it and see what the preliminary diagnosis is of the nosie. Is the engine full of oil and it has been changed on a regular basis or at least every 5,000 miles.

Refrigerator wont run. Clicking noise coming from main board preceded by a short humming noise every several seconds. Unplug for 30 minutes then plug back in and compressor starts up after several clicks...

Hello,
That condenser fan motor needs to be replaced. You and doing the right thing as far as using a seperate fan to keep compressor cool, buy replacing the fan the compressor will run cooler and click off by being too hot as you have heard/seen.

Find your model number and call your local appliance parts store and see if they have a CONDERSER FAN MOTOR in stock

There is a whining sound upon powering up my HL-P6163W which softens after about 5 minutes, but doesn't disappear completely. I think the source is either the color wheel or the cooling fan. How can I...

It the Colors wheel, cooling fan will shut down,if it start making noise to the fan, because the whole projection egine and the bulb link to it.The fan have to run a certain RPM to keep the tv running without problems. These colors wheels run 1000 RPM to start to give the tv colors and it make out Flexy glass and plastics. What ur opinion, who will give u the problems, first as parts wise.Ok any noises like whinning in the tv alway the colors wheel starting to buckle and warp.Getting worse make motor noises and briddles enough will brake and shatter it into ten of hundred of pieces.Who know, than inside what else will cause the rythum of the RMPS running of the tv,when u replaced it.

How to reduce noise of Compaq Presario C700

More than likely, it's just the fan making noise. They get noiser with age due to dirt and dust. Fans are cheap, you probably have one in the computer and one in the power supply. Bet bet is to pick one up at frys electronics or on ebay. They are just a couple of bucks and new ones are very quiet.

CPU cooling fan

Hi...you can press the F2 key to enter setup...and scroll down until the fan is highlited...hit enter and then F10 to save and exit. This tells the computer its OK.
you should have plugged the fan in the same pin port the old fan was in. Usually only 1,.
If the new fan is not from dell..it may be faster and noiser..or it may be faulty..if you bought it locally you may try to return it.
The purpose of the fan of course is to remove the hot air from the CPU to keep it from overheating. If this fan does it it is most likely ok.
Hope this helps..
