Question about Furuno 1942 Mk2 Radar
My radar got damage, I changed the transceiver for a new one and it'sworks, but now I get the following message ''hdg sig missin'' and theorientation of the objects on the screen are wrong.
There is an internal Heading magnetic or optic switch which terminated with a think cable and wellow plug on the T/R PCB.
Check that conduct by a multimeter, fitted in place and try again
on display unit for targets stabilizing.Maybe also using that RDR
a resolver motor counder, you also check tha cabling of this.
For more info mast be read the Radar's manual. I am JRC spcialist, no Furuno but I have RDR experience.

It cannot determine a heading, have you also damaged an internal antenna or positioning / gps device inside it? It is unsure which direction it is pointing in but uses triangulation to determine this.
That requires either an electronic compass unit, or gps to achieve correct heading and hence correct orientation of the radar image
