Question about Pioneer DV-F727 DVD Player

1 Answer

My 4-year-old region-free Pioneer DV-F727 changer suddenly will not play discs. I choose a disc from sub set-up, push play, watch the logo of the spinning disc and see the disc title on the display window, but then the timer on the display window goes to 00.00 and all I get is blue screen. Also, this changer is linked up as the master for a region-1 DV-F727 which still plays discs--through the malfunctioning changer. Is there any home remedy I can follow so that I don't have to re-enter the 300 titles on the changer? I did that once to the (older) slave unit after it went in for repair 2+ years ago. I don't ever want to do that again!

the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

SOURCE: My Pioneer DV-F727 multi-disc player

This is usually a power supply problem, the special circuitry inside the unit's power supply is detecting a potential problem and is attempting to shut down the unit?
If it isn't that it maybe the standby relay cycling, again due to a prospective fault?
Without actually examining the unit it is very hard to tell as many many symptoms although the same have widely differing causes.
If you want the very best outcome, my professional opinion is to contact a local or head office from Pioneer, and ask for a referral to an authorised service center, now when here, ONLY first ask for a "Quote" as to any prospective repairs, and go from there, as to repair or replace?

Pioneer region free code DV-340, DV-343, DV-444, DV-545

Introduction
The Px4x DVD Upgrade is an advanced modification to your DVD player, which adds extra features and enables you to get more from your machine. The upgrade supplements the DVD player and in no way harms the playback quality or removes any performance features of the DVD player.

Main Features
The DVD Upgrade adds the following features to your DVD player:
 Multiregion capability
 Macrovision disable

Players Supported
The following DVD players are supported by this version of the DVD Upgrade:

 Pioneer DV-340, Pioneer DV-343
 Pioneer DV-444
 Pioneer DV-545

Modification Details
Multiregion selection
Nearly all DVD discs on the market today are encoded with a specific "region" in mind and are made in such a way that a disc designed for "region 1" will not play on a player designed for "region 2". This is so that the Hollywood studios can control the release of titles in different geographical regions all over the world. Our upgrade allows you to select between regions 1 to 6.
Macrovision & CGMS disable
All DVD players have a system called Macrovision built in to the player, which is designed to stop the copying of DVD discs to video. However, this system can have adverse affects on some projectors. For this reason the DVD Upgrade disables Macrovision to solve any problems.

Operating Instructions
You can select the region code by remote. This region will be tried first when playing a disk.
Due to this design, the modification will work on the RCE (Regional Code Enhancement) protected DVD’s. In some cases it will be necessary to insert a conventional (non RCE protected) disc before playing a RCE protected disc. Follow the instructions as detailed bellow:

1. Turn the player on without a disc in it
2. On the remote control, press 'SETUP'
3. Use right arrow to select 'General'
4. Use down arrow to select 'Basic'
5. Press 'ENTER' on the remote control
6. Press 'Display' on the remote control
You should see the region code and OSD version that the player is set to
7. Press 'Condition/Memory'
8. Press '1', '2', '3', '4', '5' or '6' to change the region code of the player
The text will disappear
9. Press ' Display ' on the remote to control the region
10. Press 'SETUP' on the remote to exit. Play the disc
This dident work for me but mayby work for you.

Pioneer model # DV-c503 will play DVD but does not play CD's anymore.

Hello,
The problem could be dirt on the surface of the lens.
Use a dry cotton bud to clean the surface of the lens, this you have to do gently because the lens is fragile.
If otherwise you have to change the lens.
Try websites Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy parts for replacement..
