Hi there i have a starview 5 box recently purchased earlier this year . unfortunately it seems to have lost connection on all channels apart from freeview channels , i have tried rescanning it but to no avail any suggestions many thanx mike !!!!!!!

You need to put the codes in to get the scrambled channels depending who your provider is. Telewest ,ntl ,cw ,chorus Repost your provider and i will give you the codes.

You can try a factory reset and rescan.
If you are in the UK, Virgin is changing to nagravision 3 (encryption) if your area changes, you will loose most if not all of your channels.

Try putting it back to factory setting and re-installing channels. Dont forget to switch EMU back on. It is a pain sorting all the channels again but worth it to recover lost channels.
Did you get a piece of paper with it telling you how to download the files onto the usb stick. Then put it into the back of the box then scan the channels.You will also need the codes for your provider.
If you have not lost all encrytped channels, you will Virgin has now switched to nagravision 3 encryption. All eurovox/starview boxes can now only receive SOME free to air programs. If you rescan, all the programs are picked up, but all the encrypted channels are blocked. There is no fix yet, and there will probably be NO fix for your box, or any box without an ethernet connection. Check afterdawn.com or techkings for more info
