These DCOM error messages are benign, and you can ignore them. Do not change your DCOM settings to prevent these error messages from being logged. If you do so, you may harm your system badly

Win32

dllhost.exe (dllhost.exe error) Description: Dllhost.exe is a program which most likely arrived on your computer preinstalled, but there is also a virus / trojan under this same name. The actual disk location is also listed below, always verify where its located on your hard drive, as this makes sure it is not spyware or adware simply placed elsewhere on your computer, and using the same name in an attempt to fool you. This program is from Microsoft and its their DCOM software which is part of the operating system. The correct file location is shown below. Make sure you do not have a file under this name in a folder called "Wins" within the system32 folder, as that is a trojan and virus related file. The correct location for the system file (which is safe) is below. This software will appear in your startup as a service. This is a safe file and it is not considered to be virus or spyware related.

Why are Comp 'Lock-Ups' showing Error DCOM 1053, DCOM 1068 or DCOM 1084 every time it happens?

DCOM 1053 link to possible solution: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/839174
This link is for the other two...http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135
however, in reading some of the solutions...have her disable her antivirus program and see if that clears all of the problems...if it does, then delete it and do a fresh install of said product. If that doesn't fix it...then do what the articles suggest should be done. It sounds like there's a program interfering with the processes. Try the antivirus disable thing and see what happens, let me know. hope this helps you!

Cant install driver with "rpc server is unavailable" and also shows both the se and se sec family in device manager.

Have you gotten an RPC error lately? They look a little like this:
- "RPC Server is Unavailable"
- OR "The RPC Server is too busy to complete the task"
- Here's the best one, "Access denied"
This is fun stuff. Unfortunately, an RPC error is one of the most common errors out there, and most of us don't even know what RPC is.
What is RPC?
RPC stands for "Remote Procedure Call." This probably still doesn't tell you much. Let's see if we can put this in non-technical language. RPC is the go between of your computer and server. This is what allows your computer to access a network.
RPC has two main parts to it: the client and the server. When the client (the program requesting something) sends a message to the server (the process that takes the order or performs the task), it is being asked to execute a certain procedure. The client waits for the server to process the call before resuming the execution.
Why Won't the RPC Server Work?
Usually, the RPC error pops up because there is some sort of miscommunication between the computer and the server. Most of the time, the wires get crossed somewhere due to Internet components that are not configured or activated. Sometimes it is just a matter of adjusting the Internet Firewalls or Proxy Server.
Quick RPC Error Fix
One way to investigate an RPC server error is to verify that you have enabled the DCOM Tunneling is enabled and not being blocked by any third party Internet Security programs such as AVG, Norton, McAfee, etc.
To do this:
1. Go to Start and Run
2. Type in DCOMCNFG
3. Click on Component Services
4. Click on Computers
5. In Computers, right click My Computer
6. Choose Properties
7. Go the Default Properties tab
8. Check the "Enable DCOM" tab
9. Go to the Default Protocols tab
10. Click Add
11. By the Protocol Sequence move the down arrow to Tunneling TCP/IP
12. Click OK
13. Click MoveUp button until Tunneling is at the top of the list
14. Now you may select SPX and Remove
15. Click OK or close the program out
16. Restart the computer
When You Need Help with the RPC Error
The RPC Error is such a common error, it seems like it should be easy to fix. However, the DCOM Tunneling fix is only the beginning of troubleshooting an RPC server error. The good news is that you really don't have to do anything when it comes to an RPC error if you maintain your computer with registry maintenance tools. Try researching the benefits of a registry cleaner to fix RPC errors.
Optimize-Your-PC, with its Advanced Registry Cleaning Technology, will repair an RPC error, and Speed Up Your PC, all in under 2 Minutes.

Scanner could not find required user interface files

I've had the same problem although with a HP Laserjet 3392. In order for the scanner to work it needs two services to run. (In Windows Xp goto CONTROL PANNEL, then ADMINISTRATIVE TOOLS and then SERVICES.)

The following two services was dissabled 1) HP CUE DeviceDiscovery Service and 2) HPQCXS08

I've changed the STARTUP-TYPE to AUTOMATIC for both services and the start them also manually. If you system is not using these two files go into the SYSTEM Event Viewer and look for error messages from the DCOM source just after you have tried a scan. These errors should give you an idea where to search
