Question about Nintendo DS Lite Console
You should have it looked at by a game shop like EB games and have it shipped for repair

RC SYDNEY I think you wanted to say nail polish remover. AKA Acetone by it's chemical name. I would never do this! Put a drop on the bottom of your case and notice how it melts the plastic. Do you really want that going on inside your reader slot?
Start with a can of Dust Off or similar compressed air duster.

Children often blow in to the slot , this is considered bad for the device , as eventually it will rust the pins in the slot.
Rust can prevent the console from recognizing game cards , also check if any of the pins inside are bent.
Try to clean the slot using a cotton-bud soak with nail polish or some type of cleaning alcohol , this would help remove the rust on the pin.
Make sure you clean it gently do not push down on the slot.
