This is used in very humid conditions to dry out the air in a room. Specifically if you are near the coast.

1 Remove the batteries form the remote and blow hot air by hair drier about 5 seconds . replace the older/ used batteries with new one of same kind. Does it solve your problem ?

2. Remove the batteries and unscrew the remote and then open the case of remote , clean the PCB's key pad area with soft and dry cloth , put small amount of carbon ink (purchase from electronics parts shop- cost $0.5 approx) on key pad's back side round dots, let it be dry for 30-45 min , assemble the remote and fit batteries and enjoy.

Function keys advance on their own

Does this happen only when you use the remote control? If yes, remove the battery and return it. If this does not work, there could be bridge if there has been liquid splash on the remote previously. You need to remove the battery of the remote control and try to allow it to dry, it opening it is possible, then gently clean phase and allow to dry before coupling it back. Hope this helps

The remote control is dead or the remote CPU chip that control all functions is dying and only some of functions buttons will work, some wouldn't anymore or the rubber insulater between the rubber buttons and the remote circuitry board are worn out and make no more contact. Can u take the remote aparts?Yes.Check all the rubber butttons insulater see if they're still good.Tries clean the remote PC circutries board with some rubbing alchahol also the battery - + connections too.Wait like about 20 mins for the rubbing alchahol to completely dries.Putting it back together again an putting in new batteries, the remote control might work again. If not have same result.Try website like Remotes.com to buy an original or very close compatible remote for a replacement.

Since the remote got wet, remove the batteries and let dry or you can try to open it and use a hair drier to dry it.
If that after drying it still doesn't work, check this link to find a new remote control.
