Question about Apple MacBook 13"White /2.0Ghz Intel Core2 Duo White/2GB (2x1gb)/80GB/SuperDrive (Z0DT) Mac Notebook

1 Answer

When I turn on the mac book, it is stuck at the loading screen. This problem fisrt occured when my computer froze and I then turned it off using the on-off switch after finding it non-responsivewhen I tried to unfreeze it. The icons would get larger and the bottem bar, but when I clicked them nothing happened. It was dissapointing, to say the least. Any help would be appreciated. I really do noit want to have to get this repaired or replaced

It sounds like the system is corrupted. What I would do is to get your instal disk to boot up holding down the c key on your keyboard. Once you have booted up go to the file menu and run disk utility to verify and repair the hard drive (if necessary). Then go to the instal menu and instal a fresh system remembering to preserve the users data so you do not wipe anything. Hopefully this will work.

My sony prs 350 ereader screen froze when i was reading my book when i try to turn it off the light turns red and it is fully charged

Hi!

If the Reader is frozen, you can try the following:

1. Disconnect the reader from the computer
2. Hit the reset button at the bottom of the reader for 3 seconds
3. Slide the power switch
4. Screen will blink and will show "Opening book"
5. Allow the reader to load and then see if operational

Note: If the reader get stuck again, connect it to the computer for 15-30 minutes and allow it to charge, make sure the red steady light comes on.

Good Luck!

I have no problem turning on my laptop but it gets stuck in the loading screen. The wheel under the Mac Book symbol is turning and everything seems to be running just fine but the system itself is stuck...

Hi This could be one of three things. 1. a corrupted file on your HD, or 2. the directory on the HD is corrupted, or 3 a failing HD
Try starting up from your installation DVD and then running disk utility. (Insert your DVD then shut down the Mac. Restart the Mac and hold down the C key until you see the Apple logo. Once you reach the screen that asks which language you want to use, select English and then from the menu bar chose disk utility and repair HD)
If you get a message to the effect that disk Utility cannot repair the disk, run it one more time. If you still get the message then you had better locate a service centre.
Sometimes letting the installation run its course and overwriting the existing system will fix it. In this instance, you select the archive and install option, otherwise you will erase your files as the HD will be wiped.
I hope you have your files backed up.

I own this model of computer and it froze recently. I tried to get it to respond for about 10 minutes, and finally pressed the power button. When I turned it back on, it was still stuck on the same screen....

the system is completely broken? i'd say that something seriously wrong happened with it... you may want to consider biting a bullet and taking it into the apple store...

My mac book will turn on but it wont load up

Clicking sounds are usually the hard disk drive going bad. Replacing the drive is not for the faint of heart on the Mac Books.

The circular timer startup screen NEVER STOPS! Powerbook G4

Hi

Safe Boot is a special way to start up in Mac OS X 10.2 or later when troubleshooting. Safe Mode is the state Mac OS X is in after a Safe Boot. To perform a Safe Boot, hold the SHIFT key as your Mac starts up.

Some features don't work in Safe Mode Safe Mode can be useful for troubleshooting. However, certain Mac OS X features do not work in Safe Mode. For example, you can't use DVD Player, capture video in iMovie, use audio input or output devices, or use an internal or external USB modem. The behavior of some devices such as an AirPort card may vary depending on computer and Mac OS X version.
Safe Mode in Mac OS X 10.5 or later also disables Quartz Extreme (hardware accelerated graphics). Applications that depend on Quartz Extreme will not open, and the Mac OS X menu bar will appear solid even if "Translucent Menu Bar" is enabled in Desktop & Screen Saver preferences.

sounds like your hard drive died, you should take it into a repair shop unless you know someone that can replace the drive and re-install OS X for you. you computer uses a 2.5" laptop hard drive.

Not loading when i turn the computer on

Start the computer from the installation CD, choose Disk Utility from the menu, and then choose Repair Disk with the internal HD selected. If that doesn't work, you can try a new OS installation. If your data is important, don't erase the drive during installation and select "Archive and Install" -- if your data is *NOT* important, you can just repartition the drive and install the OS.
