3 red light another solution

i have torn up many xbox consoles
i am now currently on my newest and 5th xbox 360
(its a slim and its FANTASTIC)

microsoft screwed up in the begining by making xboxs with a certain type of sauder and other metals making it (over time) vaunerable to heat. the red ring oof death is an overheating issue.

also if you take apart your xbox if you dont put the screws back in perfect your xbox will have continue to show red ring of death.

my friend, as a fellow xbox client i suggest you get $200 and go buy the new 360.

my best regards,

My sons xbox shows 1 red light

One thing that people say you can do is leave it under towels for about 15 minutes. Then when you take the towels of it should have overheated and it will show 2 lights. Then if you turn it off, and put it by a window or someplace cool, it should cool down and be fine. This is a risky move though. It may become to overheated. And if when you take the towels of it blinks 1 light then 2 lights, that means it did overheat but it has the same problem so when you let it cool of it will still have 1 light.

How to fix my xbox 360 from 2 red lights

Towel Trick This part is more for reference. I don’t recommend doing this method.
I read about the towel trick before I found out about the X-Clamp replacement, so thought I would give it a try. At the time, it was either this or the heat gun trick, which seemed a bit more risky, so I went with the towel method.
This method basically involves wrapping your xbox 360 up in a towel to prevent any airflow from getting in, or out, of the xbox 360. This in turn forces the xbox to get really hot. You must leave the video plug attached, so that the xbox does not auto shut off. I left it running for about 15 minutes. It got pretty warm...
I’m not sure on the specifics, but I believe this just allows the solder on the cpu/gpu/ram to reflow, and fix the bad connections. As the x-clamp is still in use, this method generally will fail, and it did for me after about 2 days (and I wasn’t using it heavily).

Freezes on game, remove game, frozen picture stays, 3 red blinking light on console, get nothing but that when I turn it back on -xbox 360

If the lights are red, then you got the RROD (RED RING OF DEATH) call ing 1-800-4MY-XBOX to send your console in and get it repaired. Or do the Towel Trick to fix it yourself.

Black screen with white dots moving around everywhere

It is possible to open your Xbox 360 and fix the problem, which isn't recommended, but there are many tutorials, but if it is not 3 red lights then you don't have the Red Ring of Death. If the whole ring around the Xbox 360 is red then this means that either the Audio-Video cable is not connected properly, or the Xbox 360 is not detecting it. You can try cleaning the AV cable or you could try buying a new AV cable. The easiest way to decide on what you should do is go to:
That is the specific page for your problem and should give you a solution, and if it does not, then you should be able to contact Microsoft, and if it is still under manufacturer's warranty, then they should be able to fix it for free.
I hope I helped! ~Flascher

I got the red ring of death and did the towel tirck and now my xbox freezes up

The tower trick is only a temporary fix, you will need to replace the xclamp or modify it to fix it for good. See pictures and replacement kit on the following site.
