If your camera uses a memory card, simply get a card reader at an electronics store.

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

Not able to transfer pictures from my Rebel xsi to my computer. The selection screen doesn't appear on the computer and the LCD monitor on the camera remains black. Instruction manual says see Software...

You can download the manuals from the manufacturer's web site at
http://www.usa.canon.com/cusa/consumer/products/cameras/slr_cameras/eos_rebel_xs_18_55is_kit#BrochuresAndManuals

You might want to consider NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use ZoomBrowser or any other photo cataloging program.

I can't get my camera screen to turn on i put 2 new duracell battrey in it to take a picture when i turn it on the lens come out but the screen is still off

Try one or more of the following:
  • Insert a charged battery/batteries.
  • Press the shutter/record button all the way down.
  • Transfer all pictures/videos to the computer, delete the copies on the camera, or insert another memory card.
See your User Guide for more information.

To conserve battery power, some cameras switch to a power-save or sleep mode after a few minutes of non-use. If your camera is sleeping, press any button to wake it up. For further instructions, see your camera User Guide or Extended User Guide at KODAK Product Manuals.

Then try to take a picture or video.

  1. If your camera is on, turn it off.
  2. Wait 10 seconds, then turn on your camera.
  3. Take a picture/video.
