Remove the battery the ac adapter, the memory.the hard drive and the cd rom.Press and hold the power button down for twenty seconds.Replace the memory first then the battery and the ac ,power up if this works add the other pieces one by one.REMEMBER BEFORE YOU ADD EACH PIECE THERE MUST BE NO POWER ,NO BATTERY OR AC ADAPTER.
Good luck

The start green light on our dell dimension 9100 is blinking amber. I can turn off the machine and back on but machine won't boot up. Any ideas? span.jajahWrapper { font-size:1em; color:#B11196;...

If you see the boot screen, then it is a problem with your operating system (windows)
If you do not see the boot screen, then it is the power supply or the motherboard isn't working.
If it turns green but you never see the screen come on, then it may be the video or the monitor.
If it does go directly to blinking amber, it is probabbly the power supply. It should only take a little while for a computer person to plug in another power supply and test it.
You can actually take a power supply out of someone elses computer and plug it in (don't even have to mount it in the computer)
Plug in the motherboard plug(s) and the hard drive only, then attempt to start.
If it does work, it is your power supply, if not then it is your motherboard.

Blinking battery

The battery has an internal failure, and needs to be replaced. The useful life of a main battery for a portable system is about 300 to 500 discharge/recharge cycles. (Roughly 1 to 2 years which is why they only have a 1 year warranty regardless of the length of the system warranty) The battery may still have limited functionality but it will continue to decline till it no longer works.

My inspiron 9100 is goin very slow after i restored it how can i fix it?

Hi,

1> Look for the number of programs running automatically at Start up. Too many programs loading can make your system slow.

2> Defragment the disk. This will improve the performance of your system

Charging issue

It’s either the plug on the AC adaptor (might have a broken wire) or the laptop’s input jack that the adaptor plugs into. The input power jack is soldered onto the motherboard. Could also be a problem with the charging circuit on the motherboard (would need to replace motherboard to fix).

That unit has an Inverter board, just below the screen in the LCD panel.
It is the unit that actually brughtens the LCD.
If it is out I purchase them from here:
