Dishwasher is stuck on one wash cycle - cannot make changes

Jenn-Air JDB1100AWS Dishwasher approx 3 yrs old. The dishwasher is stuck on normal wash with heated dry. It DOES complete the cycle and clean the dishes, but I cannot make any changes at all!! I cannot change the heat, or go to rinse cycle or do a different wash cycle -- only the normal cycle.

When I touch the START/CANCEL button the lights turn on to the NOrmal Wash, Heated and Extra Rinse. If I hit the START/CAMCEL button again, all the lights go off, only the Start button is lit. (at this point it does not wash, since a cycle has not been chosen) If I hit the START/CANCEL button again-- all the light turn off.

There are no flashing lights . We have tried pushing buttons (obviously) and switching off the power to the unit.. My husband is handy -- what can I get him to do?

2 year old stainless steel dishwasher making weird sounds

are u hearing any metal grinding sounds or is it making a noise like something is breaking theres a pump located down the bottom of the unit and depending on how you wash your dishes for example if you wash them before you insert them into the dishwasher or if you put them in with food on them would consitute your next course of action if you do insert them with food on them then you would need to check the pump and the chopper area you might want to call a technician if the problem persists. hope this helps try running it through the full cycle if tere is something wrong you will get an error code

Same thing happened today

with the door open when your dishwasher was working normally Did the lights light up on the keypad? I am wondering because if the answer is the keypad only worked with the door closed .....you possibly have a bad door switch.

or it could be a blown fuse inside the dishwasher. are any lights on at all?

JDB1100AWS not rinsing

if your filter assembly is clogged you are going to need to clean it. if it is really bad then it should be replaced. the part number is 99003292 and would probable cost about $30. the other thing is start your dishwasher on a rinse cycle and see if you have suds in the bottom do not put additional detergent in while checking this. if you have suds run vinegar in the dishwasher to help get rid of the suds as that can cause the same problem. Let me know if you need additional info

disassemble front door to get to the latch. Check if the latch is properly in place, sometimes the metal cylinder that hold it in place, slips out of position.

I hate to sound like a broken record. But look for my vinegar and CLR fix. In my experience in most cases that works.
