There is a ethernet end, and usb end on the cable. What you need to do is to the plog the ethernet into the modem and the other ehternet end into the computer or router.

I sign in on play station home and it loads then suddenly I'm kicked and this error code pops up its getting really frustrating.

This is due to the internet connection to your ps3 being interrupted or too slow to register. Is your ps3 linked to the internet wirelessly? If so, try plugging it in directly with an Ethernet cord. Make sure nothing else in your household is using the internet as well. This will help the os3 to connect faster with the network.

How do i connect phone to laptop connection

So do you have internet service at the house? If so you can plug the ethernet cable from the modem directly into the computer's ethernet port.

If you're talking about directly connecting to your cell phone, then the phone has to have the built in router in it. If it does, you can connect your computer to it wirelessly.

If you're talking about a regular old house phone (land line) then you would be very slow if you could get it connected. I don't think the newer models of computers even have a modem port to connect a telephone line into it. But basically you would still need a internet service provider to connect it.

Bear in mind that there is a difference between the phone cord and the ethernet cord. The phone cord is smaller in size and the end that plugs in is smaller.

I have a toshiba laptop, and I want to know how to get connected to the internet but not with a wireless connection. I tried using a phone cord but it will not fit and I cannot find my manual. What should...

if you are inside (home, school, library or work) and do not not want a wireless connection... and the phone cord is for dial up (real slow and out dated)... the cord you need is Ethernet cable wire

go to start/show all connections/and configure the connection according to where you are some libraries may charge you... ask the TI personnel at work for configuration.... home just connect and you are on

Mac slow downloads

If you have slow downloads, you have an internet problem. Call your internet service and talk to tech. support and get them to run a diagnostics check to ensure you are receiving the fastest speed. You might find that you are running at max mps and therefore would need to up your service connectivity package.
also, if this just happened without explanation (meaning, it was working fine before), then check to make sure you don't have a splitter that hooks up your cable tv and your internet with the same cord. If you do, your splitter is probably gone bad and you need a new one.

Internet extremely slow on one network, fine on the other

Not knowing if this relates directly as i am not from Australia but have you checked with the ISP.

The phone line providing the internet access may be damaged in some way or require calibration to reduce line noise (which can cause slow speeds).

Alternatively, have you got a usage limit that you may have reached. ISPs have the ability to throttle back your connection speed.
