It is best recommended use a external wireless LAN Card. The problem you are facing with is that your W-LAN card is damaged, you need to change the Capacitor mounted on the W-LAN card but the service is costlier than the new Wireless LAN Card. It is up to you what you will choose. I better suggest you to go for a new one.

Well, if that keeps happening try restarting your computer then refreshing, or if you know the network your looking for's name then look it up directly. Else goes wrong, move around where ever you are till you find a connection. You may be not getting any signal because hard walls, etc.

There may be a switch to turn the wireless on and off - it will usually have an antenna icon next to it.

I keep tuning on my wireless internet on my dell lattitude d600 and my wireless internet wont come on it doesnt show anything wen i press fn and f2

check the error message when you try to search for your network. If it says it cannot find network in range and wireless zero configuration utility is turned off than click on start go to run and type : services.msc, click ok, on right hand side scroll the window to the bottom and you'll see wireless zero configuration >> double click on it >> change the start up type to automatic and click apply then change service to started and click on ok.

Afterwards check if you see your network name or else

click on start >> go to control panel >> double click on network and internet connections >> right click on wireless network connection >> click on properties and go to wireless tab >> check the box at the top that says use windows utility >> click on ok and than right click on wireless network connection and click view available wireless networks. It will show you your network name. click and connect to your network

try it!

Hi, I have acer acpire, model 5534. wi fi wont connect to wireless network. What can cause this problem thanks

Hi,

Do you see a wireless or network icon in the lower right of the screen, next to your clock? Can you view a list of available wireless networks?

If so and you can see your laptop trying to make a connection on your screen and it just fails to connect, it's likely you've typed in your wireless key wrong.

If not, it's possible you've hit a wireless button or switch and shut your wireless off. On many laptops, there's a switch on the front or sides of the laptop that'll switch wireless on or off. On others, you'll have to look for a colored Fn (function) key on your keyboard. You may have to hold that Fn key and search for a wireless icon on one of other key's that's the same color (usually blue) as your Fn key.

Unfortunatly, I can't find any good pictures of your laptop to tell you exactly where it is. But let me know if this helps!

Right under screen there should be a button, or the f8 key I think is another one. You can also search you computer for Wireless Assistant which will turn it on for you.

My wireless wont connect to home, and it shows a big red ''X'' whenever i try. It says that the setting are different, I changed NOTHING and it worked last week.

I'll assume you're using Windows Wireless:

Right click on the taskbar icon + view available wireless networks + change order of preferred networks + delete you network from the list + add network + manually enter the SSID and the security key + ok and exit.

Post your results back here...

Wireless not working

First make sure the Wireless LAN card driver is installed. Then go to device manager and make sure the Wireless LAN card is enabled. If not, right click on the Wireless LAN card icon and select enable. Once that is done you should be able to search for wireless networks. If a wireless router is not broadcasting the SSID for the wireless network, the Wireless LAN card will not be able to locate the network during the search. If that is the case, you will need to set up the connection manually. If you can see the correct wireless network during the search but still can't connect to the network, it may not be an open network, so make sure you have the correct security settings for the network you want to connect to. If you did not set up the wireless network, you will need to get the security information from the network administrator.
