Question about Sony KP-51HW40 51" Rear Projection Television
IF you go into the customer menu and select convergence look to see if red or blue are skewed and or will not adjust.
If this is the case you have a CONVERGENCE circuit problem.
kp51hw40 uses a pair of the STK-392-560 convergence chips.
If you or someone you know can do the repair you can save the set and a lot of money--most shops get at least 300 for this repair----considering you can buy the chips and everything else you might need for under 30 dollars on Ebay (I know a good seller there)
it makes more sense if you can do it yourself.
I can give you general instructions for this repair as I have done hundreds of them---I have one tomorrow identical to the kp51hw40---different models use different chips.
