Plug the sansa into your computer start computer right click e or f or whatever drive and format. This will erase all data on the sansa and put it back to 2 gb.

Hope that helps.

I have a mac and it says my sansa has free space but when i Try to add music it says not enough free space

The only way to solve this is delet some files from the device, and then try and add a new file that is less size than what was deletd. If it works, then the Mac is misreporting the file size of the device or the remaining space on the Sansa storage chip. Its pretty common.

Hello. I just want to know how many gigs of space do all external LG CD-ROM hard drives have?

All full size CD-ROM disks should hold .680 GB of data.

That's *POINT* 680, or 680 MEGA bytes, which is LESS than 1 GB.

The capacity of some CD-ROMs may be slightly more 700MB or so (the capacity is usually stamped on the label), and of course the mini CD-ROM disks hold significantly less.

MY 10 GIG HARD DRIVE IS FUNCTIONING AS A 2 GIG HARD DRIVE, ITS ONLY DISPLAYING ABOUT 2 GIG AND THATS ALL IM WORKING ON, I RECENTLY INSTALLED XP ON IT. WHERE IS THE REST OF THE SPACE? THERE IS ONLY ONE...

Since it is an old drive. It could just been formatted on 2 gig where FAT system that can run using windows OS. Just partition the rest that is remaining, activate it and then format it to make it usable. You can use third party partitioning software if you like. And before I forgot check also its jumper if setting is lock to access on 2 gig only.

Just for input.

Not working 1gb sansa clip

What does that mean - "music db" ? I put all of my music on my 1 Gig and it works great. I put all Harry Potters audio books on my 8 GIG and still have 1.5 gig left for music.

Sansa 280 with 8 gigs

The message says it needs 6MB of space for the MUSIC DB ( the database, the artist names, etc).

You need to delete some of the recordings off of your device to free up some space.

You can manually delete the files while connected to your computer from My Computer>Device Name (e280)>MUSIC Folder.

Best of Luck.

Philips SA4010 1 gig really only half a gig!

1 Gb player should have around 894Mb or more of free space. The rest is taken up by the directory and firmware files.

Try running the Device Manager software on the product CD and use the repair option.
