If you want ot know what gas mileage your car is actually getting, do this.

Fill the tank all the way up. Record the mileage on the odometer. As an example, lets say it's 100,000 miles. Drive the car normally, use up most of the tank.

Fill it up all the way again. Record how much gas you needed (from the gas pump) to fill it. Record your mileage now.

Lets say mileage is now 100,500 and it took 20 gallons to fill.

That's 500 miles using 20 gallons, or 25 miles/gallon average. Do this a few times to get the best average.

I just bought a 1998 Lexus LS 400 and I put PLUS gas in the tank instead of PREMIUM will this effect my engine?

It should run ok, it might not get as good as mileage you would with premium and it might not have normal performance as with premium.

My check engine light in on. I have a 1998 chevrolet Malibu. It has been skipping and I thought that water was in gas. I have now put Lucas in gas tank.

It sounds like you may have a bad spark plug or bad spark plug wire. The first thing you need to do is find out what diagnostic trouble code is in the computer and to save money autozone will scan it for free. Send me a message and tell me what came up in the computer and we can go from there. Good luck.

I have a 1998 buick regal it has been recently tuned up was getting very good gas mileage and runnin well now it is burning more gasoline...no change in performance and no engine light codes

Good gas mileage on this car should be 19City 27Hwy. Gas mileage can be affected by many things. Assuming that the car has been recently tuned as you have indicated, I would: Check tire pressure first<-you'd be surprised what low tire pressure can do. Check for low oil level <-engine friction Cheap spark plugs. Let me know.
