There are a couple of ways that I clean the coils. Mostly it depends one the amount of room there is. If I can get a shop vac. with the small crevice tool in there I use it because it does not make such a mess as the other way. The other way is to use compressed air to blow the dust and dirt out and then vac it up. If you can use the vac and go in from both the front and the back to get the most out possible.

The refrigerator stop getting cold, the ice maker is not being used so that canot be the problem, what do you think it could be.

Adjust the thermostat inside the refrigerator to a higher number setting. The higher the number, the colder the temperature inside. Clean the condenser coil. It is either on the back or under the refrigerator. Clean it by vacuuming the coil. Remove the plastic grill that is under the front door to gain access to the coil. It just pulls off. If these things do not help, the sealed system is low on refrigerant. You will need a repairman to add refrigerant to the sealed system.

How do I clean the coils underneath my Frigidaire 26 cu ft side-by-side refrigerator?

Hello friend, thank you for your post!

I see that you want to clean the coils underneath your Frigidaire refrigerator. The best way to clean the coils is to remove the toe grille and use a vacuum extension brush to reach the coils. I hope this is helpful. -Matt

Why is the line freezing back to the compressor

Probably a defective evaporator fan. Are the temperatures inside the refrigerator abnormally high (particularly in the fresh food compartment)?

If the evaporator fan isn't the problem, try cleaning the coils, usually situated under the refrigerator. Dirty coils often exhibit the same symptoms as more extensive electrical or mechanical problems. The bottom coils of your refrigerator should be cleaned at least every couple of years.

GE Appliance Fridge

The clicking noise is likely the compressor overload tripping.

Here are some tips that may help solve your problem:

  • You will need to clean the condenser coils under the refrigerator. Unplug the refrigerator to completely disconnect electrical power. Carefully remove the cardboard cover at the bottom of the back panel of the refrigerator to access the coils and clean under the refrigerator. To thoroughly clean the coils, I recommend that you obtain and use a coil brush. It is a long, round brush with a handle designed for cleaning refrigerator coils.
  • Check your condenser fan to make sure that it is running when the compressor is on. If not, this could be causing your problem.
  • Be sure to replace the cardboard cover on the bottom of the back panel of the refrigerator. If this cover is not in place, air will not flow over the coils properly.
  • Re-post with your findings.
