SOURCE: reset the lamp timer on PJ506d

Here's the manual
www.aboutprojectors.com/pdf/viewsonic-pj506d-manual.pdf

On page 24 in 'Advanced Mode', it tells you how to re-set to factory settings, and that will probably include zeroing the lamp hours.
If not, there seems to be nothing else there.

As you replace the lamp and reset the timer it should work. But if its not working then there are few reasons. The lamp door switch/lever is not closed properly or its loose.Check that.If its ok,then other possibility, the replacement lamp is working but its not compatible to your tv.On some tv models they dont detect compatible lamps. They see only original lamp.If that is not the cases then other possibility is that the lamp is faulty. --------- To get replacement lamp online there are few online sites. Reset lamp timer

Try this, it works on older LG TV models:

Put the projector on. While holding down the Menu key on the projector, press and hold down the Menu button on the remote. Keep both buttons pressed for a count of at least 5 seconds.

When the Service Menu pops up, release the Menu button on the remote control first and then the one on the projector after.

Now you're in to the service menu, you need to find out which button on the remote brings up the Lamp Timer Reset function. This is where you're going to have to do a bit of trial and error. With the TVs, the remote button was the Mute key. There isn't a Mute key on the projector remote, so try the Lamp key first. If that doesn't work then try some other buttons. Here's the method.

While holding down the Enter/OK on the projector, press and hold the Lamp key for five second. If this works then the lamp timer reset box should appear. Release the remote button first, followed by the unit button.

Press Enter/OK on the remote to reset the lamp timer. If there's an On Screen Prompt to confirm, press Enter again.

Press Exit on the remote to come out of the menus.

Warning: Don't reset or change any other functions. The service menu isn't the place to be tinkering around with stuff you don't understand.

I replaced the lamp for TV but the orange light in front of TV is still blinking and I can not turn TV on.

kimhean,

It sounds like you may have to reset the lamp timer. Here is the procedure:

Hold down the two arrow buttons and the Power button on the control panel at the same time for 3 seconds. The status indicator will blink twice. The timer will be reset to zero hours.

What does the status light mean on my hc1600? won't power up

This could be due to a blown lamp in the unit or a temp control unit such as a bad fan or what not. You may want to take it in and have this looked at if I where you. This light is telling us its ether the lamp or the temp controll unit such as fans that has given out.
